1. I did activate other tabs and returned to journal, this did make my values readable a couple of days ago, but not now, I think it may have to do with starting with CL and moving to 6E. I have not downloaded the new journal file
2. I unprotected journal tab, double clicked it and adjusted width, then reprotected, this worked
3. I have about 20 trades entered, but only 6 show up in my pivot table, how do I 'recalculate' pivot table with all trades

It should not make any difference with what you start. There is a code that should do exactly the same what you did manually, unprotect, doubleclick column, protect. So it seems that the code is for some obscure reason not firing as intended.
Regarding the trades missing in the pivot table, to which pivot table are you referring exactly?

P.s. Could you please check again that macros are in fact enabled?

1. Pivot table - I am referring to Grand totals - column F and inside the box under column J, K, L
2. I do not know how to use some of the supplied info and plan to find out more later, after I have more trades entered
2.1 Position Size calculator - I have about 7 lines that start at -2 and go to 0 Contracts, AND none of the lines enter into the positive # of contracts. Is it telling me I should not be trading
2.2 Overview - Hourly Profit per trade - I presume this is trying to show which hours are profitable or not, but no labels on the X-axis. I also see numbers 6, 7, 8 inside some bars showing my losses, perhaps these are the # of trades used to get these losses.

1. Seems to be that the tables are not refreshing as intended or have some filters applied: see button next to trade types (A3) and next to Date (J3).
2.1 This was an error in the calculation, will be fixed in the next version (well spotted, thanks)
2.2 No that should be the hours.

1. - Pivot Table - I tried to 'clear date filters' - it did uncheck the date filter but still only getting 1 day - Nov 1, 2011 (6 trades) and blank (2307 rows)
- tried to uncheck all dates, would not let me

Thanks for the feedback.
To be honest, I ran out of ideas.
I could have a look at your file, but it might be easier to wait a bit as I'll have a new version up tomorrow, perhaps you could switch to that then and see whether the error persists.

I will switch to new release tomorrow, maybe screen printouts would help or I can also send a CSV file (comma separated variables)

also Pivot Table Date Filter shows a date for every trade day I have entered in a drop down, will this show 2500 dates when I have 10 years data entered, all in a drop down menu. I haven't used the data filter service, so I do not know how flexible it is - i.e can you specify different ranges of dates and exclude some dates inside of these ranges

how about a more database way of specifying

specify date
between mm-dd-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy AND
between mm-dd-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy AND
between mm-dd-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy
exclude mm-dd-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy
exclude mm-dd-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy AND
exclude mm-dd-yyyy to mm-dd-yyyy AND
I know that this is not as flexible, but an option

Yes, you could apply quite sophisticated filters based on rather complicated rules. The easiest way would be to google the pivot table filter functions....

Here is a minor update.

Corrected an error in the position size calculator which @ Superdoug3 pointed out.

Let me stop here for a second and say thanks. Developing this journal has been an incredible journey for me, I have learned a lot about excel, especially vba, but more importantly, it has also taught me a great deal about trading. As I had to think about all the stats and tools in the journal they got quite important to me. I see it a bit like a workman who needs his tools to do his job. Without the proper tools for money management, risk assessment, risk management and actually verifying that I am still on track within statistical variance has been an incredible help (and at times a much appreciated boost of confidence).
But above all else it has taught me to journal religiously.

Although many people have participated in this thread and my sincere thanks go to all of them, I first and foremost have to thank two people without whom this learning experience would not have been possible:

@ Big Mike for starting this thread and this journal and letting me hijack it (and of course thanks for this amazing forum). I feel like the dwarf standing on the shoulder of a giant.

@ madLyfe for countless valuable ideas and feedback as well as for his tireless search for all my errors.

Due to a minor error (Monte Carlo account chart was not auto scaling y-axis correctly) I have exchanged the file in the previous post, sorry for any inconvenience caused.
