Hi all,

How many of you find yourself "beating yourself up..."? By this I mean getting in a mental state where you berate yourself. Examples include "If only I'd done this....." , "I should have followed my rules...", "If only I'd not taken a break" etc etc.

I used to be one of these people and it showed in my personal life as well as my trading results. I would miss a trade, try and get the loss back and then find myself further behind.

So what did I do to change things. I made a concious decision to let things happen naturally. I took full responsibility for my decisions (good and bad) and I'm now a more peaceful person. My personal life has improved and I'm enjoying my trading.

I'd like to hear what others have experienced.

Meggs

you hit the nail on the head this is exactly why so many traders fail is they dont respect this part of their trading.

it is far too easy to get caught up in the negative emotions and feelings. In an earlier post I said that it is very important crucially important that your trading rules or plan are simple enough so that you can actually follow them and not use them as an out (if I had only, but I didn't notice, if it wasn't for)...

this plays with what you are saying on being accountable and not viewing anything as positive or negative just as the past, take what life gives you and make lemonade or whatever the saying is. it isn't about being right or wrong it is about how you deal with each situation that will decide your profitability.
