2. I also meditate to this day, Although differently since 2015. I bought 3 cd's that put you into the meditative state as though you were meditating for years very well done.

Which cds were they?

You can post links or recommendations for paid services or products if you are not the person getting paid.

If it's for something you are offering for sale, you can't do that.

There's no problem with pointing out to others that some product you have used is helpful, but you can't promote your own stuff.

Hope this makes things more clear.

Bob.

I did Van Tharps home study course. It contains some NLP material to program/reprogram yourself.

All the best,
Tom

No offense to anyone. But I am not a fan of meditation just to gain an edge in trading. If one does know how to meditate then one should already be working on eliminating negative emotions and negative thoughts regardless of trading.

The true purpose of meditation is to achieve the Buddhist Annihilation or total eradication of the ego. And when you meditate just for your own benefit and not for the benefit of others or humanity, you become whats called a "Patreyka Buddha" who only works on himself for his own benefit. They don't have compassion developed.

So is trading just to benefit oneself or is there a higher purpose for which we trade for?

Just some thoughts to consider.

The NLP I mentioned was in Tharps peak performance course, not the home study course.

I'd like to try hypnosis, but I know a guy I mentor who could really benefit from hypnosis.
It would be interesting to see if it has an effect on him especially, because he's struggling at a lot of things.

I have no problem using any mental edge in trading, business or in life. A higher purpose for me is providing for my toddler, as I am raising him on my own. That reason alone is more than enough for me.
Some higher purpose is helpful, but it doesn't need to be global peace or anything extreme. How about a better life?

Things I like to do...which are really silly...before I fall asleep I replay profitable trades in my head, and how great it felt to win. I tell myself Hey I'm a winner. Even on a losing day, I tell myself Hey I'm a winner, BECAUSE I stopped after less than 2 losing trades and this is NOTHING but a small red blip for my week.

Deep breathing is my thing at market open. The same kind of deep breathing I also do during Toddler Meltdowns. The meltdown of a small child is like a flash crash almost. It's instant stress, plus multi-tasking trading with it.
My day could be fantastically profitable, but once I hit a sort of "emotional stop" or decision fatigue, there's no deep breathing to fix it, except stopping for the day. And it could have been a fantastic day too, where normally I'd continue to trade, but you need to LISTEN to your own internals inside yourself.

You can practise your skills all day long, but it's comparatively easy to get better at playing. The hard thing is to get better at winning--anonymous

I don't know about hypnosis, but meditation is very helpful. Sometimes you just need to sit down, talk to yourself, calm your nerves, and continue trading with new strength.
Many traders neglect the rest and the peace itself, so they quickly get tired, and their effectiveness is very lost. Therefore, I recommend everyone to meditate or somehow distract from work, at least for 10-20 minutes, it will help your body and your brain.
