Does it work or not? Well you can ask Tony Robins! After living in his car, he has managed to built himself a multimillion empire. Who payed for it?! Guys like us!
Like us?
Well, yes!; guys that are willing to accept that there's is something "wrong" with them (in my opinion there's something wrong with all of us, nobody is perfect, but very few want to admit that), and are brave enough in order to wish for and wanting to do something about it.
Congratulations Tony!
Does it help then?
Yes and No! It is all about how deep rooted your problem is! See it this way; you have a bag full of shit and you take a new and clean bag, and put the bag full of shit (pardon my language, but it is necessary to amplify) in it.
Does the shit disappear? No! But you may decrease the smell temporary. So, what is there to do?
Get rid of the bag full of shit, of course! Does NLP do that for you?
Don't know, I haven't tried it. Should I shut up then, and erase my lines above?
I'll stick with them and keep them!
Why?
Because it's not about what I'm telling you! It is all about what your mind tells you, and how willing it is to accept NLP as something that works.
Believe me, it's not more complicated than that!
If I'm telling you RIGHT NOW, that you're the worlds greatest trader, and you'll have a wining ratio of 90% or more from now on! Would that be true and work for you?
Yes, if you'll believe me!
Just think of how your visit to your doctor went the last time you were there!
We all struggle to make tomorrow look like yesterday!
Get rid of your past and let the future unfold from the now. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

I found some videos on the net. I watched a minute or two of some of them and was horrified, it seemed really bad and not at all like what Charles Faulkner was saying in the New Market Wizards book. But, I will at least spend 30 minutes or an hour and watch one or two of the Faulkner videos I found completely before I decide if there is anything worth pursuing or not.
I have trained as an NLP Master Practitioner and Hypnotherapist (although I have never practiced professionally). NLP is about modeling successful behavior and how the mind learns to do things. Since most of us do not have a successful trading model sitting in front of us (and Faulkner discusses how we would likely miss what the real keys to trading success are even if we did) we can only imagine what a successful trading model would look like. Fortunately, the imagination (of this model) is all the mind needs to make the leap and learn the behaviors. The mind (well subconscious) cannot really distinguish between what is imagined and what is real. So, through properly designed NLP patterns (mind exercises), we can reprogram the mind into adopting these new behaviors. These NLP patterns need to be re-run repeatedly as the mind tends to revert back to previous states. It requires reinforcement.
If one is interested in this I would suggest several weeks (or months) of work with a trained Hypnotherapist, also trained in NLP. You could also get more value by working on some things not related to trading like smoking cessation or weight loss (that's one I need to work on) to get results in other areas of your life.
One of the values I found using these patterns is the concept of personal ecology. When looking to change a behavior a good practitioner will find out what benefit we are currently getting from it. Like many smokers get a secondary benefit from smoking such as "the smoke break gives them a little time away from their desk - a little me-time" or "they have a connection with a fellow smoker out on the terrace" for instance. Giving up smoking would mean also giving up these things they value. So the concept of personal ecology is a process of honoring that these secondary benefits are important also and acknowledging that we are willing to give them up too. NLP holds that these secondary benefits are why people often fail when trying to change a behavior using other forms of talk-therapy.
As for books/videos of NLP and trading: I have seen none that specifically use both. I have many books on both (including Bandler's Frogs to Princes) but as another poster mentioned, reading books is not that effective when it comes to learning NLP.
The problem is time. Now, not soon. But as easy as it gets. A little time and discipline to persevere are the key. This key is called success. I'm learning for 1 year NLP and hypnosis. The trance state teaches you.
Why read books, to gather information and to adapt them. What can an athlete or a pilot? You can too.
Learn simple if blue then buy, hold your stop and your target ... nothing else. Trade your emotional positionsize, not your Excel sheet (but perhaps the sheet is your position size). Play through the scenario and visualize the profit or loss. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
The pilot makes that too. He sees himself when he start the plane and through his plan. He does not only determined once, but he makes a thousand times. ... in connexion with a diary.
George gives an good approach: Gerald Kleins method. You can achieve a deep level. Ultra Height ...
How much time can you spend to learn?
10 minutes a day
1 hour a day
10 minutes a week
...
Causality is the relationship between an event (the cause) and a second event (the effect), where the second event is a consequence of the first.
M: Do you have a beautiful garden, or you wish?
S: I have a beautiful garden.
M: Why do you have a beautiful garden?
S: Because I make my garden beautiful. I work in my garden. Therefore, my garden is beautiful. It is my garden.
M: Do you know the difference between hope and make? Define?
S: If I hope nothing happens. If I do, my wishes can be true. I practice what I learned.
M: Who taught?
S: I learned it by myself. I looked at a lot from others, made it better. So I won my prize: my garden.
M: I think you have found the key. Now, you need to open your mind with the key.
Causality is the relationship between an event (the cause) and a second event (the effect), where the second event is a consequence of the first.
I did take an NLP introductory course: it was an interesting week, and i should take it again lol
I personally found that EFT in combination with subliminal affirmations of various formats seems to have enough (for me) consistency to be multi-reinforceing without being too boring/going down the same path without end.
I hope to get to a 'Trading Tribe' meeting someday https://www.seykota.com/tribe/ to facilitate more personal levels of growth.
Not really NLP: I do think it is all along the same path.
Not so much books, per se, I dont think you can use books to really grasp NLP (YMMV):
not as well known but Van K. Tharp is a NLP practitioner, which I find interesting: Trading Coach Van K. Tharp
"" He is a certified Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), a Certified Master Time Line Therapist, a certified Modeler of NLP, and an Assistant Trainer of NLP. He has used his expertise in NLP to create the successful models of trading and investing upon which so much of his work is based. ""
This post is not about a book, but a self-mastery method. I have been recommanded to this method by a trader who has been very please with it. The program is like this:
You can choose to take one, or all of them,
1) a coaching program;
2) The Total Brain Conditionning (A form of audio neuroprogramming);
3) A risk profile test;
4) Nutritional supplements for traders.
I really need to work hard on the mental part of my trading, so i will surely try the Total Brain Conditionning and the supplements, i hope by this fall and will report here again with any results.
