hi nb

when you say "it works", can you please elaborate? For example, have you calculated expectancy on this, or have you run it successfully for x no. of trades, days, etc.? Have you traded it live? Does it work in all market conditions?
Thanks

No, it only seems to work in bracketing market conditions. Between the hours of 2-6am EST on the CL contract. Anytime after 6am and you are likely to get run over trying this. I have successfully simulated about 30 trades in the past two weeks applying this method. Each time penalizing one tick on the exit, and keeping a close eye on the time and sales tape to ensure that realistically there was enough liquidity to warrant my three contracts would have been filled. But as far as other market conditions besides 2-6 am EST CL, no it doesn't work, in fact it's almost like stepping out on the subway tracks with your money.

Thanks - I understood that it was restricted to CL and that you put a time limit on that. Is that what you referred to as 'bracketing'?

Also, have you simulated this with NinjaTrader, or other platforms?

When I said bracketing I'm referring to a non trending range bound market. But yes I do set a time limit for this type of trade. Usually if it doesn't work out in under 5 minutes I will scratch or take my loss. I use sierra charts for all my trades. Ninjas simulator ends up giving me price anomalies if I don't clear the cache every day, so I stopped using it and decided to pay for data from sierra charts. I think you responded to my post about the price spike anomalies a few months ago.
