Embrace that every trade you take is already a loser (Phantom of the Pits). The winners are just another notchpost in one's lipstick case (Pat Benatar).

Losers and winners/Winners and losers.

More: Exits matter & are where the money is made.

EVERYTHING before then is just conversation and if this makes a trader too uncomfortable; guess what?

You are

a) doing it wrong
or
b) you are not going to be a professional trader

Either or & whatever. Trading, (again) is not for everybody. That is why it is an auction process and why we need fresh MEAT every day in order to keep score.

We all know how competitive this never-ending game of chess is. What I don't KNOW is why so many men (forget about women in this business--they don't matter) HOLD on to the dream so long.

Kinda' like shit marriages and shit relationships. Cut your losses early and move on.

29+ year full-time trader 'rant' complete. Before that part-time from age 11 to age 18.

I have to trade, it is in my bloodstream (and my brother's bloodstream) and my father had it in him as well.

Personally, I wish I was never introduced to trading by my father. Would have been much happier and probably would have just become a writer or journalist or P.R. exec or awful ad-agency chump.

Cheers!

peace/hedvig

One more time. It is that fucking good.

I do not know who this guy is, or what his results are. But I do know the message is correct.

From an email I received.

"I realize you are a malcontent and a real prick (or think you are) and perhaps it is you against the world in trading... Respectfully, your mentorship offer with other traders was a crash n burn thing for you with no follow through."

It was not "crash and burn", it was "attack and retreat". I was breaking out, in a wrong direction.

The catalyst was real, the direction was off.

We live and learn.

Pride is off my "deadly" sins list. It is what allows me to follow my plan.

Today it has been about just watching the market, and me getting bored more than a few time... getting up, walking around, listening to music, starting a load of laundry, making a smoothie...

I am watching two markets to ease into the new year. And am not trading until they setup, which could be tonight, tomorrow, Friday, I may even miss it a time or two, not paying attention at the right moment, or, reading things wrong.

I don't think I am a real prick. I think I have an attitude sometimes. Not something I care to change.

Me against the world? Still thinking about that one. As far as I know, I am willing to help anyone with anything. But the reality is, 95% fail.

I get more and more to where I cannot discuss trading, because the communication does not exist. What is there to talk about?

I may as well go through every detail about chopping wood for a fire. Or, how I advertised to make a big sale. Or, my method of taking off quantities, for a quote, or bid, or order...

We survive, or we don't.

And a part of survival, popular or not, is believing in your direction.

I think that's where a lot of people end up. I don't have anyone to talk to about trading because people who don't do it either give you two responses "that's cool" or "how much money have you made". At this point I feel like it's me against the world because I'm in this alone and have very little support but that's okay. Anytime someone rises up there will be someone in their shadow trying to bring them down, it's inevitable. I feel like I'm going through a phase where I'm a little put off from posting, I don't know what it is, I guess I just don't like people as much these days. Sometimes I'll look at a thread and want to post but I'll weight it out because It's a time investment.

Try using the words, "blow me". See if that works.
