Hey Mike...

Big Mike View Post
I cannot believe how few registrations there are for this webinar.

Well I take that back. I can.

No one wants to hear about risk, because it isn't glamorous. No colorful indicators and oscillators and arrows on your chart.

Anyone who is actually a consistently profitable trader will tell you risk is near the #1 priority of any trader. Yet you guys aren't even willing to attend a free webinar on risk.

No wonder so many fail!

Mike

Risk is always and has been so since the early days, the FIRST consideration for the wldman. But it is totally okay that in general most retail business does not understand. There is not usually as much low hanging fruit these days. Nothing like you or many others here but each time I try in general or with a specific person I get bid back right away...to which I now just say "sold"

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

Great webinar from researcher and practicioner in one!

Gave me something to think about + included references to proper research being done on the topic.
As an example - Richard Lyons and his research on Order Flow in currency markets - for free working papers go to:
Richard K. Lyons at IDEAS

Note to self, follow-up with Ernie on SPY vs ES cumulative delta.

Mike

I sent Ernie some charts showing the huge discrepancy between SPY and ES with cumulative delta. Will follow-up after he responds.

Most other instruments don't have this discrepancy, but not too many of them have direct counterparts from ETF to futures to really do a side by side comparison.

Good Webinar - I enjoyed that.

In terms of cumulative delta on SPY - are you sure that's not more related to the rebates on SPY?

Mike

Thank you Big Mike and Ernest Chan for for putting on this webinar, really enjoyed it. There were a few nuggets I took away from it such as Ernie's comments on utilizing VIX to reduce risk; and really enjoyed his study on Forex vs. Futures' risk vs. return for mean reversion strategies.

I'm looking forward to what he says about this.

Thanks again guys and I look forward to watching the many other recent ones as I like to take some time to digest content.

Fantastic webinar, thanks Ernie!

A more appropriate title would be "Leading indicators and Order Flow", I think, so I will rename to that.

Congratulations to the ten book winners:

@gdance, @vquant, @artemiso, @rr62, @NoMagic, @gregid, @Yaropolk, @flowscalper, @hedgefair, @Trader Duck

I will be in touch with you shortly.

Mike

I have heard back from the winners and I have sent the info to Ernie. He will sign the books, and mail them back to me. I will then mail them to their final destination. Total ETA ~3 weeks.
