I have found that my blocks even impede my ability to relax and hold a visualization.
I will start and very soon find sabotaging thoughts rush in to ruin the visualization.

Let's say I am imagining having $50,000,000 in gold, a nice home, a beautiful loving young wife etc.

What are you going to do about people coming and stealing your gold?
How are you going to protect you program?
What about taxes?

The logical absurdity of these attacks given my current financial situation paints them as totally ridiculous - but knowing this doesn't stop them from sabotaging my visualization efforts. It is almost as if my subconscious is saying:

"If we let him do these visualizations successfully he may start having success and our Standing Orders (belief rules) are he is not allowed success he doesn't deserve it - so we better stop this right now."

In his famous book Think and Grow Rich, Napolean Hill says the only known method of changing our inner beliefs is through auto-suggestion.

"Stated in another way, auto-suggestion is self-suggestion. It is the agency of communication between that part of the mind where conscious thought takes place and that which serves as the seat of action for the subconscious mind." p95

"Both poverty and riches are the offspring of thought." p94

Three ways (all essentially the same) come to mind.

1. affirmations
2. Self-hypnosis and then affirmations (along the lines of Psycho Cybernetics)
3. taped affirmations played when sleeping.

One of the guests featured in Louise Hay's double DVD pack is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caroline_Myss
In the DVD several of the authors of Hay House outline their process in self-healing.

As I recall, Carolyn had breast cancer and she stood in front of the mirror and did her healing affirmations
"At the beginning, I did them mechanically, like reps, just as if you were doing bicep curls. I would do sets of afirmations"

(approximate quote from my recall).

I liked the idea of sets.
So that is what I will try sets of 15.
3 sets in a session with a break in between.

3 Sessions a day.

The concept of "inner game" is manosphere jargon.

Picking up girls.

I think that it's all the same "game" and requires the same inner mindset.

Over time, the repetition of the idea will make it seem not so absurd. You dont need to believe at first, just play with it. Also, other people have these things, so why not you? I would recommend doing these visualizations where you are sleepy so in the morning and right before bed, when your conscious critical faculties are not so switched on. You could also use some sound tracks to put you in a relaxed state, so lie down and become still and listen to something relaxing like a guided mediation, maybe some binaural beats, and then begin the visualization.

Understanding yourself is just as important as understanding markets.

The term was first coined by Timothy Gallowey in "the inner game of tennis", which is really a metaphor for the inner game of life and can be applied to almost anything.

Understanding yourself is just as important as understanding markets.

Well, regardles, it's all the same game -- whether it's relationships, fishing, gambling, sports, trading, hunting, warfare, statecraft.

Same principles cut right accross.

I was saying the little thought gremlins that come in to sabotage my visualization were absurd not the visualization itself: "The logical absurdity of these attacks given my current financial situation paints them as totally ridiculous - but knowing this doesn't stop them from sabotaging my visualization efforts."

Your points are valuable additions I think such as:
"other people have these things, so why not you?"

I will give your suggestion of :
"lie down and become still and listen to something relaxing like a guided mediation, maybe some binaural beats, and then begin the visualization."
a try. It may be the key to still the gremlins!

thanks!

I tried that Youtube visualization above, the one with the raking up hundred dollar bills in the park and putting them into many plastic garbage bags. Really excellent.

My primary visualization is quite different, though.

My focus is on outcome independence, which is based on an assumption of abundance.

I am indifferent to outcome, just focused on getting the process right. Beautiful fishing.

So the image is of being a boulder on the beach, somewhat above the waterline. The waves come in and they go out. Sometimes the waves reach me and go splashing right over me. Other times, most of the time, they barely get to the base of my boulder. They always go back out, though. This visualization is timed with each breath. As a rock that is deeply anchored right down to bedrock on the beach I am totally indifferent to what the waves do.
