Years back I bought a sail boat named "Faith." And old wooden snipe, now white with dark blue trim.

When I was restoring it I thought to myself "What a prosaic name, maybe I should change it."

But I just left it like that.

Years later, thanks to trading, I have rediscovered the meaning and value of faith, and now that boat has a special significance.

From Napolean Hill - thought of the day email

Remember that the tone of your voice often conveys more accurately what is in your mind than do your words.

In a moment of conflict, a suggestion or compromise can salvage a threatened working relationship. A discouraged employee can be motivated again through a few carefully chosen words. In situations like these, a good manager is looking beyond an immediate situation and acting to preserve a future benefit. But if your voice betrays your own anger, fear, or despair, that emotion, not the wisdom you offer, will be what others remember. Those who rise to the top in any organization are those who have learned to control their emotions. When you have a leadership position, others will watch you closely for the signals you send. You must learn to manage yourself and all the ways in which you convey messages to others if you want to inspire them and demonstrate that you care about all the members of your team.

Good trading to everyone.

Friendly cooperation is never any part of the Devilís work. He is working on the other side.

The most noble human relationships are those that have been formed in a spirit of cooperation and harmony. Cooperation, in many ways, is the physical manifestation of your care and concern for your fellow man. When you work with others in a spirit of friendly cooperation, you are conducting yourself according to the founding principles of most religions and all successful societies. Everyone occasionally feels pangs of jealousy or envy, usually accompanied by the urge to cause problems or difficulty for those we dislike. Truly successful people have learned to restrain such urges. They know that if they concentrate upon their own objectives and help others along the way, they will eventually reach their goals. It isnít easy to always be a friendly, cooperative person, but in the end you will find that it is worth the effort.

Good trading to everyone.

Decisions

We do not worry over conditions once we have reached a decision to follow a definite line of action.

A friend said his success began once he reached a firm definite decision.

What does 'conditions' mean in this context?

'Conditions' here means the reality - the unexpected, new, even impossible things that then happen.

Once a course of action has been decided upon Napoleon would follow it to closure regardless of what happens!

Lighter note:

Guy in a bookshop to girl at cash register: "Did you know that Napoleon said that the word impossible was not in his dictionary?"

Blonde at cash register: "Well, he should have checked that before buying. I'm afraid we do not offer refunds."

:-)

the quote is their email.

I understood "conditions" to mean:
regardless of the current conditions e.g. poverty, lack of trading success, and regardless of future obstacles that are placed in your way, once you have made a firm definite decision and hold to it unwaveringly, the Universe will move heaven and earth to arrange things so you will meet with eventual success.

The conditions will nor stop you from reaching your goal

Good trading to everyone.

I see, thanks.

It sounds like in this context conditions=adversities.

Firm definitiness of Purpose

Yes - partly.

Note: the the quote and the others I am pasting from the daily emails are not necessarily from the book - but rather the foundations' interpretation of the book.

From "Think and Grow Rich" Napolean Hill sets out 13 steps/condition/"secrets" to riches.

In several places he speaks of the importance of reaching a firm definite decision:

(e.g the little black girl demanding the 50 cents for her mama, Ford demanding that his engineers produce a 8 cylinder engine cast from a single block - though his engineers said it was impossible, the singer who pounded Broadway until the universe had finished testing her resolve, Barnes who burned all bridges and determined he would be in partnership with Edision, etc)

Ford quote "I want it and I WILL HAVE IT. Continue until you succeed." (caps are mine)

Hill speaks of definite of purpose and totally committing to it (burning all bridges) - in I will do this thing - absolute and utter faith regardless of:
1. others opinion of the doablility (or even "impossibility" of the enterprise),
2. what conventional wisdom says,
3. what current circumstance (known engineering methods) indicate etc.
4. others mental mindholds of what "is".
all these might be thought of as = "conditions"

So "conditions" are this outer state current manifest "reality".

The new reality we are creating, that is a manifestation of the vision we hold, is not limited by (past) conditions. Indeed from other authors the current condtions only show what you were visualizing and attracting in the past. Focusing on the current as an indicator of the future is like doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

Bob Proctor says one of the keys to the process is to not let your vibratory state (which is set by an emotionally energized vision) be influenced by your current conditions.

Good trading to everyone.

From Napolean Hill - thought of the day email

-----------------
A negative mind spawns only negative ideas.

It is a physical impossibility for a negative mind to generate positive thoughts. When you allow yourself to dwell on the negative aspects of life, negative thinking expands to fill all of your thoughts until there is no room for positive thoughts to grow. It becomes an endless cycle. The habit of negative thinking generates more and more negative thoughts, which the mind attempts to turn into physical reality. The result is a life of despair and hopelessness. Develop the habit of eliminating negative thoughts the moment they appear. Start small at first. When you first hear that inner voice that says, “I can’t do this,” put the thought out of your mind immediately. Instead, concentrate on the task itself. Break it down into manageable parts and complete them one at a time. When the job is finished, tell your doubting self, “You were wrong. I could do it, and I did!”
----------------

Bob Proctor , mentions that most people let their external world dictate their internal. So negative external events is what they use to create their internal mental images. This sets up a negative or "groundhog day" (1) scenario where they keep repeating the negative events they don't want in their external world by replaying negative events of yesterdays.

It both awareness and will-power to break the cycle and create a new reality. It is important to set aside some time every morning and evening to create in your mind the future you wish to see unfold for you

Good trading to everyone.
