Lyrics - Jimmy Cliff

You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
But you must try, try and try, try and try
You'll succeed at last

Persecution you must fear
Win or lose you got to get your share
You've got your mind set on a dream
You can get it though hard it may seem now

You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
But you must try, try and try, try and try
You'll succeed at last

I know it - listen

Rome was not built in a day
Opposition will come your way
But the hotter the battle you see
Is the sweeter the victory now

You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
But you must try, try and try, try and try
You'll succeed at last

Jimmy Cliff

I Can see clearly now - Jimmy Cliff

Lyrics

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

Oh, yes I can make it now the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for

It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

Look all around, there's nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there's nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for
It's gonna be a bright (bright)

Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
Bright (bright), bright (bright)
Bright sunshiny day
It's going to be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

not mental imagery - but related

there have been numerous studies that indicate discipline ( a necessary ingredient in trading, I will assume)
is like a muscle - that tires the closer we get to the end of the day and the more we use it that day.

So, might want to consider trading earlier in the day - and making less trades.

I think that what you way is also related to 'decision fatigue'

I was taught a method for manifesting through visualization by a shaman once. It worked for what I sought it for but have not found the exact right visualization for my trading. This thread has me thinking about this again so thanks to all who have contributed. I do feel that it is very specific to the person as is stated in this thread. I also picked up that the mood and setting are important factor.

The method as taught to me is to come up with something short only a few minutes and repeatable, something very specific to EXACTLY what you are trying to accomplish. This example was given: There was a woman who was desperate to finish her PHD dissertation but just could not get it done. She pictured herself walking to the mailbox, taking out a large envelope, sitting at her desk, picking up a letter opener, slicing open the letter and pulling out her diploma. After doing this she had her PHD in 3 months after years of struggle.

I think the key is to keep it short, detailed, specific. Smell the smells, see the sights on the way to the mail box, feel the joy of opening the letter and seeing the diploma. Really be in the visualization. Repeat this short same visualization every day.

I would love to see some specific trader visualizations that mimic this method. I am thinking for me it might have to do with overcoming some aspect of my trading that is holding me back. I need to think about this more. Thanks again all, great stuff.

I was speaking a very intelligent fellow working on his Phd in neuropsychology. We got talking of trading and my "system". He was a very quick study and had a rapid mind. After a broadbrush of my system, he asked me
"why don''t you backtest it? - that would be what I would do."

It was a logical question and a natural progression for a "hard science" mind.
I realized that no answer I could give would be sufficient.

The true answer boiled down to my belief paradigm was so different from others (how I viewed "reality"). my view of reality so different that I could not answer his question with a meaningful construct to his world view.

My Phases:
1. See (in your mind on the non-physical plane)
2. Believe
3. Create
4. Continue and Persist
5. Materialize on the Physical plane

@Turkey

Thank-you very much for contributing to the thread. I am very interested the subject you have mentioned - creation via Shamanism.

I think the example you gave (phd - envelope etc) is excellent. It is powerful because of the specificity.

I understand your requests for specific examples of visualizations connected to trading success. (Actually when I started this thread I was hoping that we would receive many contributions of specific visualizations that elite traders have used to create/manifest/achieve trading success - just as you have asked for. I am still hoping that people who are more skillful than I on Google will source and post specific visualizations used by the elite traders of the world.)

I was hoping to use a variety of examples as a springboard to assist me in creating my own visualization.

If you were to speculate as to the reason behind your difficulty for creating a visualization for trading what do you think it might be? (Many thanks in advance for sharing - should you choose to - either here or via PM) !

Once again thanks for the great post and I hope you will provide more details of Shamanistic Creation techniques -
-mood
-setting
-etc
in later posts if you are not violating a trust in doing so.

I have also heard of (and experienced) trading stress fatigue.

So while you are in a trade that is swinging from red to green (PLwise) the stress builds the longer you are in the trade -assuming you are monitoring it -and have a small account balance.

These days of choppy narrow range ES, after 45 minutes of green/black the stress is great and relief from closing out is huge.

Your Invisible Power
(1921)
Genevieve Behrend

The older prosperity manuals are often the best, and Genevieve Behrend’s writings provide a charming entry point to the genre. It is fascinating to sit down with Your Invisible Power after reading contemporary manifestation and ‘law of attraction’ books like The Secret and Ask And It Is Given, as you realize that that much of their ideas are not new, with Behrend having studied and written about this material 80 years previously.

Behrend was the only known pupil of Thomas Troward (1847-1916), a former judge in the Punjab of British India who in his spare time had studied the world’s sacred books and become a metaphysical philosopher. He was a master, according to Behrend, of “the laws governing the relation on between the individual and the Universal Mind”. In addition to his celebrated Edinburgh lectures, highly praised by philosopher William James, Troward is best know for his book The Creative Process in the Individual, which argues that the fulfilment of our individual personalities is vital for the evolution of the universe. His thinking was seminal in the emergence of the New Thought movement and Ernest Holmes’ ‘Science of Mind’.

His work was not easy reading, however, and Behrend took it upon herself to simplify his ideas for a larger audience. In the manner of Florence Scovell Shinn (see Secret Door To Success in 50 Success Classics), who also lived in New York in the 1920s, Behrend’s short book combines spiritual principles with anecdotes of her work to help people appreciate their abundant nature.

Compared to its modern counterparts, Your Invisible Power is more focused on visualization to achieve desires, and is also distinguished by its concept that every person is ‘God in miniature’. In practical terms, this means that when you have feelings of lack, you have just forgotten your connection to ‘Divine abundance’.
