To many things to list but the main ones are as follows,

>Get back to the gym, work out 3 times a week.
>Get back to eating healthy again.
>Get back to meditating. Have really let these 3 slide this year.
>Stick to the one method i know works for me and stop messing with others.
>Operate strict risk control, do not risk more than 3% on any 1 trade.
>Bank a monthly amount to savings account from my trading account.
>Be more giving of myself to family and friends this year.

Only 2 are directly related to trading but they all affect it in some way.

All the best for the new year to all on this forum.

2010 is the year that I will be consistently* profitable. It's also the year I start trading full time (starting on Jan 4).

I also have :

- spend less time on trading and more time with the family

- eat healthier (I love cake & cookies)

- exercise regularly - I currently walk 1hr/day to/from work but now that I will work at home I must exercise.

- be more patient and understanding of others' point of view

What's the asterisk for?

Thanks for reminding me. I wanted to define consistent as 3 months or more. In the past I've been profitable for 2 months and then fallen off the wagon.

I just ran some stats. Since oct 1 I've done very well on my ES swing trading, with a PF of 7.9. However my day trading (CL, Euro, & ES) had a profit factor of 1.10 (which I consider breakeven since the equity curve wasn't straight). December I focused 100% on CL and was 1.74 so I'm confident that I've turned the corner and I'm on my way.

My new year resolutions are :
_ Work on letting my profits run a little bit more ( give the trade some time to develop , rather than grabbing the first green ..)
_ Focus more on the bigger picture !
_ Work on a solid trading plan for 2010
_ Workout more
_ Help people with natural remedies ( I am a naturopath by profession ) so please do not hesitate to ask for help , I will be glad to share my ancestral and yet proven recipes !!

"Risk more than others think safe.
Dream more than others think practical.
Expect more than others think possible.
Care more than others think wise"

New Year resolution
Use 2 simple systems that complement each other.
Never deviate from the system rules.
Trade only with the trend and not try to pick bottom.
Working out 2 times a week is a must for 2010.

Well my friends, 2011 is nearly upon us! It made me wonder, what New Year's Resolution(s) will you make for 2011 that are related to your trading?

I have more than one:
  • Read more about: Psychology, Personal Triumph, Biographies on Traders
  • Eat healthier - yes, it does relate because when you feel better you trade better
  • Help more people via futures.io (formerly BMT) than I did last year

I admit, I have many of the same resolutions this year as I had last. I've been working on them all year, but I continue to work on them each day and will continue even in 2011 to do so. My trading continues to improve each month as I gain more experience. I am feeling more confident and more relaxed as a result, which is a fantastic feeling, and I hope that I can help others share those feelings by helping them with their trading.

I look forward to reading your Resolution(s)! I hope everyone shares, and then a year from now we can check in and see how everyone did.

Most of all, I hope each of you cherish your time this Holiday Season with your friends and family, and make the most of the New Year!

Well heres mine from last year to kick things off...I got the health thing nailed getting to the gym lots and achiving my goals there, eating very well and making an effort to meditate more so am feeling great from a health perspective, makes such a difference. I have also stuck to my method although to enable me to have a better quality of life I have increased the time frame. Over the past few months I have been making more of an effort to give people the time they deserve but for a large part of the year that was not the case so I still need to keep an eye on that and work at it.

I have a specific trading goal I will set out in my journal.
I will also undertake a physical challenge this year.
I will travel this year, I want to take 2 decent holidays.
Make an effort in my personal relationships.
Buy a car!
