coding for beginners : Text + Value-Boxes in your chart
i heard about a request of a textbox in the chart showing some during trading needed infos.
i had some time today and made this as a posting now for all.
this is a code-example for making a such a textbox with live-infos of priceaction, indicator-values or whatever.
as you see in the picture i made 2 textboxes that shows different outputs.
you can confugure this like you want - just change the formulars or the formation in the code.
the indicator is just an educational thing, so its pretty raw with no possibilities to change settings via parameter, you have to do this directly in the code.
but this way you gonna learn some stuff like how colors, textsize etc are formated in NT-script.
the upper box shows the Stochastics(7, 30, 7)-value from one bar ago
the lower box shows how big your current bar is in ticks (High[0] - Low[0] )
you see also the "Made by max!" as example how to add additional lines in the textbox via \n
I am new at Ninja script. I did some work with easy language using which I could plot an indicator history (barsback). I have been trying to get Stochastic K output as a plot with variable number of "barsback" with no success. I know that you can move the plot by using "displace" but I need actual value of Stochastic K from 0 to 40 bars back. Is that possible?
I found this of great value in learning about NS, text boxes, etc.
it is both straightforward and complex in some of it's code which is great.
As I progressed I found I understood more and more - still 2 bits I don't get though!!
