I have been using IG Markets for my 5 minute trades which I rarely actually place any since I focus on 1 hour more.. Anyway the point is their US based FOREX branch is closing. I used them mainly for the charts as I have said and thats because:
1) They updated very quickly in real time
2) They seemed to be very accurate in comparison to some charting packages ive seen
3) They allow me to use pretty much any indicators I want and I havent hit a limitation with them yet
4) And this is the main one.. They allowed me to save my charts setup on my screen as a template. Now I do not mean they let me save a template of what I wanted to use.. which is standard now.. What was special was that I could take 6 charts and space them out evenly across my screen and save the template.. then by hitting a hot key (f1 - f12) they would open in the exact place I saved them. This means I could hit f6 for my 5 minute charts with ema and f10 for my custom idicator 1 hour and then f1 for a different set of charts.. etc...
Basically I was able to view as many charts as I wanted to spread out on my screen and I could switch to other charts to do the same with ease. Also I didn't have to reset them up every time it was just saved.
I had charts setup this way for everything from 5 minute with ema indicators to daily with whatever custom indicator. I could just easily switch between everything with 1 button.
The fact is, is that I cant find anything else like this. Anyone know of any good charting packages with something similar?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I am using FXCM Micro for actual trades but im willing to switch if the broker has low enough minimums. I am a 21 year old college student. I do not have a ton of funds.
I have figured out that my current brokers indicators for some reason are slightly different then other brokers with the exact same indicator.. is this normal? I am stressing out because my current setup works for me.. I am afraid changing to a broker is going to screw me over
The differences are likely due to different source data (bar data). It is possible that some formulas are different for the indicator itself, but more likely to be the data.
