I have to laugh a little.. both cars and roller blades perform the required task, that is - get you from point A to B... but it comes down to how you want to get there, or what one requires to get there.
let's keep in mind that the OP is looking for a charting platform (but then again, there are no clear requirements, which is why I said that he needed to figure out what he wanted or needed first) ... second, commercial add-ons dont make a charting platform great.. third, a DOM does not make a charting platform great (e.g. X-Trader has charting, yet it is not the reason why people use XT)... third, when trading, who needs to load historical greater than 2 days? .. fourth... a large user base does not make a product great... case in point large user base with NT and yet the company ignores their users a lot, or even tradestation.. either way, lots of users is not always the only driving factor IMO.... and last, but not least... you are correct about the backtesting/scripting/custom indis.. but as I said, OP should evaluate whatever platforms based on what he needs..
