I'm not sure what to think of it. It looks impressive, but the GUI seems somewhat unfinished & messy for my taste, and I couldn't find a forum (so no support for the free version?), nor could I find a company blog (which would be helpful to see how often they've updated their product in the last few years).
Mixed impressions so far, haven't looked too deeply into it though.
If you look at their twitter they seem to be releasing new versions at very high frequencies.
The UI is an abomination and the charting is almost useless. I feel that charting and manual trading is not the focus, however.
There also doesn't seem to be anyone actually using it: some of the instructional videos have SINGLE-DIGIT views. I highly doubt they have any paying users at all; their claim to be "The Leading Institutional Automated Trading Platform for Backtesting Trading Strategies" is just silly.
The website looks good and the company apparently has telephone numbers in a dozen countries...I'm pretty sure those are just shells that lead back to their main office though.
On the other hand: if their platform can actually do what they say it can do in terms of backtesting and automated trading it may be worth looking in to...on paper it looks far more powerful than either MC.NET or NT, and it's free. Hooking it up with IB and IQfeed appears to be painless.
I'm just in the first steps of learning C# so it's going to take me a little while to actually test it properly, but I'll come back with a verdict.
This is our first post on big-mike trading as a company, after being in stealth-mode for a very long while.
One of my users emailed me about this discussion and I thought I might respond to some of the posts here. (We would not have posted here otherwise until we spoke with mike).
imPairsonator, is right about some things and wrong about others:
1. Charting and manual trading are the least of our priorities, although I would hardly call our charting useless. Our charts have tons of features for automated traders and are highly integrated with our API.
2. We don't have many retail users (yet), but we do have multiple paying institutional customers trading many millions of dollars every day, despite the fact that the platform is still in advanced beta. Companies like ours usually cater to no more than 100 institutional customers.
3. We do not cater to retail traders, we have no manual trading tools, hence you get the platform for free. There are excellent retail platforms that you can use like NT and MC.
4. We are releasing builds very frequently to meet our paying customers demands. (We're in advanced beta).
5. IQBroker should not be compared to NT and MC, they are not our direct competition. Compare us to institutional solutions for fully automated, low latency, high frequency trading.
6. Forums will be opened if retail traders adopt the platform. Right now we have a dedicated representative to help retail traders via email.
7. "The Leading Institutional Automated Trading Platform.." refers to the technology not the number of users or anything else.
The UI is actually very clean and easy to use, I'll let users judge for themselves. (I've gotten at least a dozen emails about how pretty it is... ).
imPairsonator, keep in mind that you are just learning C# and this is a platform for professional hedge funds and expert programmers - you're not exactly our target customer.
I've gave it a further test this weekend, and it's quite an interesting platform. The documentation (both about the program and about the functions) is quite impressive (might be better than NT and MC here).
What I like about IQBroker is also it's biggest disadvantage for me - and that is that it looks promising. I'm personally more of a late-adopter type of guy, so I probably wait some time before giving it another test. I also couldn't find a way to write the code in Visual Studio like NT and MC .NET offer, since the Script Manager isn't an IDE I like (again, from a personal taste). If someone knows how to do such a thing, please share how.
Why does it look 'far more powerful' than MC .NET or NT to you? I suspect we both look from a different perspective/goals since I could not find 'far more powerful' things.
It will be interesting to hear your take on this, since you might have looked at things I've totally overlooked but nonetheless still find important.

Jura, you're welcome to email our community support to help you figure things out. I can't promote the software here, but generally speaking you should think of IQBroker as an automated portfolio of trading strategies that can be backtested, optimized and executed as a single entity. It's not an all purpose trading platform, so comparing the two isn't fair to NT/MC or IQBroker.
Being dedicated I think your product is really promising, I ve been looking through the tutorials and really like the random ds feature. I noticed you do not have kinetick in your ds list, do you plan it or is it customizable. I think I will give it a try on my VPS, I am curious to compare results with my existing NT strats. In order to better quantify your latency with the mkt, can you tell us where you server/servers are located, I also would like to ping from my Chicago location. Although your webiste is full of tutorials I look forward for a presentation on futures.io (formerly BMT).
