Has anyone experienced Ninjatrader slowing down their PC clock? Mine runs slow whenever the market is busy. I replaced the battery but that didn't help. This computer is only used for trading. I use a different one for charting.
System: Gigabyte GA-P35_DQ6 mobo, 6g ram, Intel Q6600 processor, two Nvidia 7000 series graphics cards, Windows 7 Pro.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?

I have the same problem with a different platform (DIY), could not isolate the fault,
instead of spending more hours I use the hammer method.
I use "Time Sync" and update every few minutes, works perfect for me.
I should rephrase. How do you know your system clock is slowing down "whenever the market is busy"? What tests have you done or what makes you think that is the case?

I have 2 computers, both synched to time.nist.gov. Both run Ninjatrader, one for charting and the other for trading. It's my trading computer that is slow. When Ninja is closed, the trading computer doesn't lose time. If it's open but the markets are slow, it doesn't lose much time but it does lose some. If things are cooking, it can lose 20 or 30 seconds in an hour.
I haven't done any "tests" other than observing. I can think of ways of testing this but I'm not a programmer and my free time is limited.

You can use this software Thinking Man Software - Dimension 4 v5.0 for testing it, just set it to sync time every hour and you will see how many seconds you lose, and you can you it also for sync every few seconds to have more accuracy of the bars timestamp.
I am not sure if it's going to help but Gomi had an indicator to measure or to measure and adjust the time (attached) .... you may also want to check this thread to see if it helps you solve your problem

I had some funny results on high-end Intel processor, where the time drift was quite strange.
In my case, the solution was disabling the "SpeedStep", so the processor was always at 100% of its clock speed. The OP should try that.
Anyway, to keep your clock well synchronize, NTP and 1 sync per minute is fine (details here to sync every X seconds).
