Futures trading data provider question. I currently use SierraChart tick data for developing trading strategies, and Rithmic live. I was wondering if there would be a benefit to using something like DTN IQFeed. Thinking that their "unfiltered" tick data might be better for development.

Any thoughts on this?

Rithmic has a very good reputation too and is the full data so there should in effect be very little to no difference between that and DTN IQFeed. The only thing that would be an issue would be if you were using a broker's data that was consolidated for order flow, so parceled up in to blocks rather than tick by tick, such as is/was the case with for instance Interactive Brokers.

I remember FT71 who ran a brokerage and a fund, saying in a webinar that he had switched to Rithmic a while ago as he said he thought that was currently the best feed.
And Bookmap recommend Rithmic as it has full depth, good for heatmap charts, and one of their platform features is that it records the full tick data and depth data which can then be used for market analysis.

If I was you I would save the money and stick with Rithmic if your current setup already does everything you want.

You do not win as a trader, you just get to play again the next day. If that game doesn’t appeal to you then you should not trade. Gary Norden
