Sierra Charts lets you do this, along with global crosshair with click and drag. I have it set up on my mouse's forward and back buttons to toggle scale and range the chart for full control over the environment. Granted I had to spend some time configuring but it's pretty sweet now.

You can configure Motivewave in a way that it does that (which i did). The cool thing about Motivewave is that you can compress the charts as much as you like (in the latest version). No more awkward and clunky switching timeframes.

... I have seen feature requests on all 3 platforms spanning decades where people have asked for the ability to zoom in using a mouse wheel...

I am trying Tradovate on a demo (14 days). I think you can do what you want with the mouse. I am not a fan, since I am not used to this possibility, but I think it could be what you are looking for: With the wheel, you can zoom in and out, but probably just from the last bar (not sure).

...Also, what is up with not having continuous charts or not being able to make trades off of them? How the hell are you supposed to trade daily time frames on futures and draw multi year trendlines on the individual contracts? So I am supposed to use the continuous chart for all my drawings, and then use the contracts to trade?

With Tradestation, you can use YMM21 for the current front month YM contract. You can use @YM the YM continuous contract. And you can use @YMM21 as a continuous contract you will be able to trade.

Hope this helps.
Best!

I just found a way to remove the autofit chart, which means you can you can zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, from any place of your chart.
