Hi Folks,

How to build a custom charts and a strategy center with current platforms? Which platform is a little bit easier?

These days, I took a class on futures trading. Its technical part is based on volume based bar charts, with one chart at a volume level for 5 different levels. All strategies taught are combinations of these 5 charts.

I paid for their charting service. But there are too many decisions to make for each strategy. And the software itself offers only a "Reset Layout" function beyond its charting service. A strategy-suggestion function would be much handy for a newbie like me.

Though I am a software engineer, this industry is totally new for me. Could anyone of you recommend which platform shall I go for. My primary programming language is C++/C#. I don't have much knowledge on Python/Matlab.

The desired system would be working like this. Upon launch, it displays 5 charts and a strategy center, in which I can opt-in those strategies to assist together with the filter features to select.

This is a sample charts to implement. It has PV points, SMA, ERG indicators. All 5 chars are exactly the same, but at different volume level.

This is a very simple UI of the strategy centre at some first thought.

Your comments are all welcome. My data feed is from the vendor, not kinetick one.

Many Many thanks!

Best Regards
David

Pretty simple:

For C# dev: NinjaTrader
for C++ dev: Sierra Charts

I'm currently learning C# for Ninja (with previous experience in C++).

Other considerations would be what broker you want to use. Sierra is pretty open-ended on that front; choice is more limited with NT.
