I trade using MultiCharts and I have tried using Ninja Trader, but I must have missed something. The little bit that I used Ninja Trader did not show any advantage over MultiCharts. Ninja Trader was just really difficult to write code for. Can anyone tell me what is so good about Ninja Trader?
Thank you,

I think it has something to do with all the third party applications. For example I know of a friend who writes code for Tradestation and sends the signal to ninja and then on to the broker. The reason for this is that it allows him to trade multiple strategies in the same asset. Sound complex because it is but can be quite powerful when done correctly. I should say that at the present moment I am only using Tradestation. I would like to get to know all of them but one thing at a time for me.

Personally I don’t think ninja has any benefit over TS or multicharts

Ninja graphics are excellent. And the ATM setup on the DOM is very easy to use. However, if you want to code and test, Ninja is not the way to go. Tradestation is number 1 and MultiCharts number 2. I say number 2 because some EL code doesn't work on MultiCharts (at least that was my experience when I tried it).
The EL library in Tradestation has every math function you could want. In addition, there are free templates (I wrote one of them for TS) where you just fill in the blanks and create your strategy or indicator. EL logic is easy to understand and implement.

Ninja wizard is very limited and practically useless. And to tackle the C++ code with all its nuances is a waste of time when you have something like Tradestation available. The back testing engine is highly inaccurate and can't be relied upon.

So I agree with you - MultiCharts (or Tradestation) is the way to go if you want to code.

I'm not versed in Multi Charts or TradeStation so can't speak to any of those. I like NinjaTrader because it is C Sharp and as a result allows you virtually LIMITLESS coding options. That said, it isn't a scripting language like some other solutions so may be harder if you aren't well versed.

1. Hyper current technology with super fast data processing and charting capabilities updated on a regular basis. FAST and Furious.
2. Value delivered for the price is an ROI that is almost infinite. Cost effective on all fronts and linked to NT broker with awesome rates and service.
3. Awesome customer service, efficient via email and if any problem can't be resolved with email immediate telephone and shared PC support, always resolve issues.

NT is just awesome. Trade Station, I found as a non-professional day trader they were clunky, poor service and far more complex interface. I have used several other platforms that all pretty much suck. NT is in my view is the best for a non pro day trader. I have been using it for over 10 years.

I don't know what TradeStation looked like before, but I just started using it and think it's very professional. I'm thinking about transferring over my assets from Interactive Brokers I'm so pleased with it. There are about the same amount of account offerings as IBKR (TradeStation does have Crypto accounts), but for any type of qualified account I go the safe route with fidelity.

The web app and mobile app for TS are beautifully designed and simple. The TS platform is meh.

It really depends on your trading style. For me the Market Analyzer is the best feature in Ninjatrader. I use it for multi time-frame setups and of course it is a scanner. I have not used Trade Station or Multi charts to compare. Not a programmer either but I wrote my Strategy with the Wizard and it works very well. The SIM feature is useful too, depending on what your're doing.

I looked into NT in the past but I settled on MotiveWave.
Primarily because I run on a MAC ...
MotiveWave runs on either MAC or Windows Where I would need a VM to run NT on my MAC which is just another layer of complexity.

I think NT is a good platform and there is a ton of support for it but I just couldn't get back into a windows machine due to issues I won't go into.

MotiveWave has been an excellent platform, Powerful , fast , and highly programable if you are JAVA literate.
