Platform/Broker Recommendations? - I have some specific needs
I'm searching for a platform/broker combo to day-trade E-mini futures. Will appreciate all of your thoughts.
Platform Needs:
* Ability to run on Mac without installation of Parallels or VMWare Fusion. A browser-based platform is acceptable. (I like NinjaTrader but it's not for Mac. Think or Swim works fair on my MacBook but margin requirements are crazy-high.)
* DSMA indicator.
* Ability to quickly toggle between preset charts. Three specifically: 2000, 3000 and 4000 tick charts and all with DSMA set to 40.
* Ability to save bracket presets. One feature I need but not always available --> "When first contract closes, change stop loss from two contracts down to one and move the level to break-even." Think Or Swim does not offer this feature; NinjaTrader does.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I'd recommend Motivewave as one of the better platforms out there, it is worth checking out since it runs on a Mac (and Windows or Linux) and connects with many brokers and data feeds. You can quickly toggle chart resolutions as well as save brackets. I don't know if you can get the exact rules you specifed in your post, but this document explains the exit strategy capabilities in the latest version. https://www.motivewave.com/guides/Whats_New_In_Version_6.pdf
I also don't know if it ships with a DSMA but it has an outstanding feature set and SDK for custom indicators, and comes with a very large list, so I'm sure that the DSMA could be obtained or created fairly easily for the platform.
