The VPOC (Volume point of control) is computed over any time period you like in IRT, If you want 1 per session you can, updating in real time. It is equivalent to the PVP in ensign.
I am curious, the terminology you are using reminds me of a trading system I read about on another forum years ago, is that where you are getting this from? Sorry for prying.
Yes, it's from years ago and has to do with using the PVP with VWAP. I found out about it here when I was reading some VWAP stuff but it's from Trader's Laboratory. It's probably the same one you're thinking of.
I used the demo in ensign years ago when looking for volume at price software that met my needs. I switched to IRT in 09 and it is the best I have ever used. They are incredibly innovative and you can do anything you can dream of with volume profiling.
Yes that is it. If you are looking to create the chart that guy used in IRT you will be able to. If you have data they will do a demo I am pretty sure. They are all very helpful.
Thank you so much for telling me about IRT. I had hesitation about Ensign when I looked and have found virtually nothing here about it. You have been very helpful!
but I would have a hard time to follow the logic. I assume the scenario is, if vwap is above pvp, we have a long bias. and if vwap is below pvp, we have a short bias. looking at the chart (last 3 days), I'm not so sure it would have been a successful strategy.
anyway, @Fat Tails made a great post about this idea:
It was similar to that, if not exactly that. The strategy also used weekly and monthly VWAPs and standard deviations on all of them for add in points if you are comfy with that.
