Bookmap is a visualization software trading platform. We are not a data provider. Yes, you will need to connect Bookmap to a data provider or broker. We support many brokers as well as the following:
Rithmic
CQG
Gain Capital
DTN IQ Feed
Transact
dxFeed (with Devexperts)
GDAX (for digital currencies)
NinjaTrader (via API)
TT X_Trader Pro (via TT API)
Interactive Brokers TWS (via API)
Some of the brokers and data providers will offer simultaneous connectivity to multiple platforms. Others may offer a second feed for a small charge. Please check with your broker. Also, you could always connect Bookmap via the API of another platform such as NinjaTrader, TT X_Trader Pro, and Interactive Brokers TWS using a single platform connection.
Hello,
i just started using bookmap global + but i do not have any historical data feed to train with the replay, do you know how to get one?
I try with the market replay of ninjatrader but it does not display the large lot tracker and the price levels only update when the price touches them ,well it does not work.
There should be a few recorded feeds that come with Bookmap. To create new recorded feeds, you need to record your live sessions.
You will not use Ninja to access Bookmap's Replay Mode. Just open Bookmap on its own, and choose Replay Data in the first Run Option, then choose the file to replay. Here are four videos on using Replay Mode:
Hello,
i want to open 2 chart for the same instrument, i tried to open a second chart but i have this message: already subscribed.
How to have 2 charts for the same instrument?
It is not possible to open two charts of the same symbol from the same data provider. However, Bookmap offers multiple connectivity -- the ability to connect to several data providers simultaneously. Therefore it is possible to open one symbol from one data provider such as Rithmic. Then open the same symbol again but from another data provider such as CQG. At the moment, this is the only way to open the same symbol in two separate Bookmap charts.
That was a quick patch to synchronize the display of trades on T&S vs volume dots/bubbles on the chart.
The option to reconstruct size of aggressor order in both places will be available in the next update next week.
The following user says Thank You to Bookmap for this post:
Just wanted to update that the newer Bookmap build (7.0.0 b34) contains the ability to display 'reconstructed' T&S
For that you need to un-check "Show individual trade events" checkbox
Bookmap's historical data feature will not function within Ninja. You would need to connect Bookmap directly to the supported data provider or broker. Yes, CQG from AMP will display current and historical data. For more info on the historical depth download feature in Bookmap, please click here.
You can choose to connect Bookmap with either Rithmic or Ninja. However, it is preferable to connect directly with Rithmic, as you will bypass the API of Ninja. Rithmic for Bookmap is a great choice since they offer full depth of market for the CME, COMEX, and NYMEX exchanges. And depending on the broker, you may have the ability to simultaneously connect multiple platforms with Rithmic. Since Bookmap is a true platform, just input your Rithmic credentials directly into Bookmap, just as you would for any other platform. Ninja doesn't need to be open.
@Bookmap, do you have a list of brokers that permit simultaneously connecting multiple platforms with Rithmic? I would like to use Bookmap with Sierra Charts without the extra data fees.
Hi Bruce @Bookmap and folks, what is being discussed here?. Is there anyway to dump historic tick data data from Bookmap into excel...with a regular time series for below columns to analyze the +/- Quotes and Volume parameters? Where can we
Hi guys, does someone have CVD indicator for Bookmap in API format add-on (*.jar)? I didnt find it at github among the examples(
Im using BookMap 7 b40.
Bix thx in advance!
dxFeed will offer NBBO shortly for Bookmap. I do not have a release date yet, but look for it soon. They are also going to soon offer market internals and equity indexes as well. This will be great to add as a correlation onto the Bookmap chart.
The following user says Thank You to Bookmap for this post:
In Bookmap you can input the exact contracts or share sizes for the liquidity for the upper and lower threshold in the heatmap. See the attached image with an ES example.
In the image, the Lower Cut-Off is set to 20 contracts. Thus liquidity below 20 contracts will be painted gray and black (lower end of the heatmap spectrum).
The Upper Cut-Off is set to 60 contracts. Thus liquidity above 60 contracts will be painted orange and red (upper end of the heatmap spectrum).
All liquidity between 20 and 60 will automatically adjust to fill out the remaining heatmap spectrum of colors (yellow, white, blue, gray)
Hi, I do swing trading of futures holding positions for several days sometimes. The Bookmap website mentions that the software can be helpful for swing traders. Would it really be helpful in that kind of trading? I suppose it could help when entering / exiting the market but my perspective generally doesn't involve looking at anything using tick data.
I want to know if NYSE openbook ultra will be added anytime soon, and what percentage of the US equities market is covered by Bookmap data feed providers?
It will be very nice to add a Real Time News, from Bloomberg or Reuters, or both, for upcoming Economics and Company releases, and breaking news. Also is it possible to see dark pool orders for futures and stocks?
I've documented your request for a news feed. It will be possible to access dark pool stock data shortly with the release of UDP data from dxfeed. Keep an eye out for it!
Anyone here using Sierra Chart's datafeed and Bookmap?
With 200 Levels of Market Depth in the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed, at the moment it is the only datafeed competitor to Rithmic.
I've opened a new feature request in order to get the Sierra Chart Data Feed supported by Bookmap
If you are interested in this combo here is the thread https://bookmap.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=220
Hi Vincent, thanks for your question. I've replied to your request and suggested to you a solution. I also commented on 200 price levels. Click here: https://bookmap.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=220

The Bookmap hardware and software requirements are as such:
Windows 10, 8, 7 or Vista
Monitor with minimum 1280×960 resolution
4 Gigabytes RAM (minimum) and 1 GB disk space
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz
Video card of 516 MB memory or more supporting OpenGL 3 or above
If your machine meets the requirements but you still have some issues, then try the following:
Under Settings>>memory Allocation, try bumping the setting. Please read the notes there as well.
Make sure your hard drive has at least 20% free space. This is standard for all app performance.
Consider closing the Correlation Tracker or CVD subpanel and seeing if that improves performance.
Open less symbols for a shorter period of time. For example, I open my Bookmap each morning around 7-8am ET and close Bookmap at the end of the cash session.
Hi, NBBO is not yet available from dxFeed but should be shortly. In the meantime, please reach out to us at support@bookmap.com and we can update you more about it.

Does anyone on the site have experience with the BookMap API? Information can be found here: https://bookmap.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=46. I need a pretty simple add-on that just draws fib lines at the start of the Globex session and the Cash session. And to draw them on the BookMap charts. As new highs and lows are traded on each session the fib lines 'fan' out like shown.
There are several places to view your Profit and Loss in Bookmap:
Click on Settings>> Configuration, then check the box for Show Trade Status Panel. Both P&L and Unrealized P&L are displayed.
Open the Trade Control Panel (Padlock icon). Select Chart or DOM or both in the dropdown. The Info Panel displays Unrealized Profit in the "U:" area and Total P&L in the "T:" area.
In the subchart area (along with CVD), you can also view your dynamic P&L over the trading period. Click on the Settings or Gear icon click on the icon to display P&L.
Under Settings>>Account info, under Open Positions you can access your Unrealized P&L under the UPL heading. Note this section is for Live accounts only and Bookmap Global+ is required. It will not display in Bookmap simulated mode.
Hi, I got the Gloibal+ subscription, and its working fine, but I want to download the app on another machine but I'm unable to find de download link :S
I must be an idiot or am I expected to use the same installer I downloaded the first time I signed up?
1. log in (top right of their homepage)
2. now you see your name where the login was (top right)
3. hover the mouse over your name and choose "my account"
4. now you see bottom left the link to the download area
You can download and install Bookmap on as many machines as you like, but only one instance can run at a time. You can find the link as per instructions by tr8er above, as well as by logging into www.bookmap.com/portal and in the Download an License field, you'll see the download link. You may consider the latest Alpha version, it is stable and has more new features. Furthermore, just to the right you'll see a tab for Getting Started and Education. You'll find many helpful videos there as well as access to our Educational Course. Also click on the big blue button in the lower left margin the Register for the Daily Live Advanced webinars.
I'm interested in subscribing to Bookmap Rithmic MBO feed. May I know apart from accessing MBO based indicators from Bookmap GUI, can I access MBO data itself using Bookmap API? I wish to access this data to carry out offline research.
Hello, I just found out bookmap and really like it. I have global+ subscription, and currently using Rithmic 14-day trial datafeed. I have been trading through IBKR on TWS. What's a good way to subscribe to Rithmic data? Do I have to open an account with one of the brokers that support Rithmic? Thank you.
As a price-action trader who is interested to learn more about what order-flow traders are seeing, I started following this person on twitter and their Bookmap analysis tweets and charts are very interesting: https://twitter.com/roztom
I don't know this person at all and I am in no way affiliated, I just thought I'd share the analysis/tweets as they might be helpful to others.
Cheers!

The main differences between Bookmap Global and Global+ versions is that the Global+ includes:
the ability to trade from the Bookmap chart or DOM with one click action for stocks and futrues.
The Add-on package of the Large Lot Tracker, Strength Indicator, Book Imbalance Indicator, Volume Imbalance indicator, and the Correlation tracker.
A 2nd license that can be used on another machine but for Replay only.
If you want to use Bookmap just for data visualization, then Global is fine for you. If you want to trade from the chart and want enhanced insights from other Addons, then go for the Global+ version.
Both Global and Global+ work with the MBO Bundle.
Note the MBO Bundle is sold separately on the Bookmap Marketplace. It is a very specific Bundle of indicators because it works only for CME Futures instruments and Rithmic data.
The Bundle includes the Stop&Iceberg Tracker, Liquidity Tracker Pro, and Advanced Time&Sales.
Bookmap used to integrate with Tradovate years ago, but it does not anymore. However, Tradovate will provide you with CQG data credentials to run Bookmap as a standalone desktop platform if you like.
Also, please note Bookmap will soon offer Cross Platform Trading functionality which allows users to connect with Rithmic data and then trade directly into live funded accounts for Tradestation, Interactive Brokers, CQG, Tradovate, and others.

Bruce

Bookmap is not supported directly within the Tradovate platform, however they will provide you with CQG credentials that allow you to trade directly into your funded Tradovate account. Reach out to them for details.

Thank you!
That sounds interesting having rithmic data and be able to trade through Tradovate which only offers CQG.
Do you know how soon in the future that will be offered?
Do you have any news about it? Also wanted to ask about lightspeed, speedtrader or centrepoint brokers support. And, also about IQFeed market data support.
Cos for now there is no way to test the app (with out purchasing market data) for those, who trade stocks. I can not stare market data from broker with the terminal.
I understand, that tradestation might not allow this, but i'm pretty sure that IB provide this from API (both web & with gateway).
It looks a bit pricey to buy yet another market data just to try it out.
You can use the demo dxfeed connection to test bookmap for stocks. The free dxfeed version serves delayed data & limits the number of concurrent subscriptions.
The following user says Thank You to ivoTrades for this post:
We do not have any news yet. To connect Bookmap for US Equities, an additional subscription to dxfeed data is required. Please note, we currently support Cross Platform Trading but only for Tradestation and Interactive Brokers, and only for dxfeed data for stocks. You are not receiving any market data from Tradestation nor IB. In fact, you are sending them data, your trade data. Thus the additional subscription to dxfeed data for stocks is reuired. Bookmap Global+ version is also required, since this version offers trading functionality. This is how this feature works.
We are significantly expanding this feature to include many other data feeds like Rithmic, and several other brokers too. Look for the new release soon! It will include Futures brokers as well. I will inform the Development team your request for Lightspeed, Speedtrader or Centrepoint brokers.
As ivoTrades points out, you can try Bookmap for free right now with a delayed feed for both stocks and futures. It also includes live data for one cryptocurrency instrument.

Thank you for such a quick and full response. Buy yet another question arrived. In the process of making an order i see in the market data selection list this comment: `Full market depth & Traded volume. Includes 24hr historical depth data` under the both applicable options.
What exactly it means and how much historical data i'm able to see on the chart? (or this related only to depth data?)
Is NYSE exchange covered by `Nasdaq + EDGX` bundle? (and what exactly is covered in there). This list of options looks a bit short after Interactive Brokers market data selection, so some extra details will be great. Thanks
Yes, from your dxfeed data subscription you will receive up to 24 hours of full depth backfill data. This means when you open Bookmap, you get 24 hours of historical backfill data. The dxfeed bundle of Nasdaq/EDGX is data from these ECN's or liquidity providers. It includes NYSE data as well as any US traded equity data from those ECN's.
Note the ECN ARCA is not included, however, we have many high-end professional stock traders who understand ARCA is not included yet believe Bookmap offers them an edge compared to those that don't have it. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Bruce

Hello, I think it will be useful if we can open copy of a chart that is already subscribed.
The reason is I would like to be able to view the same instrument with different viewing zoom.
similar to viewing multiple timeframe of one instrument, side by side.
Currently when i try to do this, bookmap software will say that im already subscribed.
What can I do to have 2 charts of the same futures?
The following user says Thank You to Luca73 for this post:
Unfortunately it is not possible to open two charts of the same instruments in Bookmap due to some technical challenges. However, it is on our Product Roadmap to offer this feature in the future. The work-around for now is to quickly zoom in and out using your center mouse wheel. This works very well and allows you to get the bigger picture perspective as well as the lower time frame view.

Bruce

Soon there will be new features for the Orders Management and display in Bookmap, but nothing yet regarding customizable bracketed orders. However this is on our Product Roadmap, but we do not have any delivery dates at this time. Note, you can create your own customizations in Bookmap's API. Moreover, you could sell them on the Bookmap Marketplace.

Hi, I want to replay a few days from this year using Bookmap to see if it could have helped me to get better trades. Do I need to have a specific market data provider? Can I download replay data from somewhere else? Seems it doesn't work like Sierra that you just set any date and it just works.
@Bookmap, is it possible to develop my own custom automated trading strategies using Bookmap API that can manage multi contract position? I'm also keen to know if Bookmap API enables custom strategy to accept signals generated and sent by other platform such as Ninjatrader OR is bookmap API capable of sending out critical levels information to other platforms?
- Bookmap Java API enables full flexibility, including creating indicators and strategies of multiple contracts. You would get position on every contract and could synthesize multicontract position from it. However please note that currently you don't get position updates in replay and bookmap simulated trading mode (you still do if you use server-side simulation, such as demo accounts). To learn more on Bookmap API, go to the knowledge base https://bookmap.com/knowledgebase/docs/API
- Bookmap addon is just a java code running inside bookmap process without many additional restrictions. You can connect it to signals you get from other platforms, but you'll have to take care of all the interactions yourself. Basically think of the indicator as of an independently running program - you can talk to other programs via such mechanisms as named pipes, shared memory or even just TCP sockets.
- If you are referring to getting values of the columns via the API, this is not supported, however, you have flexibility to develop your own levels and send it to other platforms, which would be have to be done in a similar way to the previous item.

I use Ninja trader 8, and want to trade from Bookmap. I have two demo accounts created in Ninja, and my real account and data with CQG. I create a chart in Ninja and insert the Bookmap indicator. I set up the connection to Ninja in Bookmap. I add the symbol loaded in the chart which has the indicator, and I begin to receive data from Ninja. In somewhere in the process, Bookmap asks which account I ant to trade: sim1, sim2 or live. I choose one. The question:
What if I want to change the account to which send the orders? If I want to switch from demo to live and from live to demo?
