Serious Latency Issue On Thinkorswim

Hi,

The last two mornings in Thinkorswim, there has been a serious unresolved latency issue.

The price ladder and the chart have a difference of several points at times, and the 5M candles are closing/opening about a full 30 seconds later than they should. Should you enter a trade, you might be shocked to see you are already down several points immediately, all due to this price difference between the ladder and the chart.

I chat messaged ToS member cha896 and he states that they are aware of the issue, but then when I was called by a salesman afterword he claimed he'd never heard of or experienced such an issue.

At any rate, trade at your own peril with Thinkorswim.

This isn't the first time they have had this issue.

I don't use this platform, but 30 seconds lag seems way excessive.

Have their Tech Support said that this is affecting all the users?

I contacted their sales and they deny everything, but the tech support people are stating that this is all over the U.S. at the moment, and that they are working on it.

Right now, there is a 3 point difference between the price ladder and the chart, and about a 35 second delay between candles.

All morning I have compared this to my Ninja Trader platform and it is a crazy big latency with ToS right now.

I asked about getting refunded money due to losses incurred thanks to latency, but the sales people will only give commission reductions.

They aren't even standing behind their product.....LOL!

A few weeks ago I had a similar problem in that there was a difference in ladder between two platforms I have. I later realized one of the platforms was connecting to a far-off server rather than a local one. After the config fix I resolved the issue. But it seems this is not your case if everyone is having the same problem... does not do good for their PR!

Hi there,

I have been experiencing similar issues multiple times on my ToS platform too.
Really frustrating, I am considering changing to a different platform with better data feed really soon
I am located in Singapore though, that could be part of the problem.

I haven't had many issues regarding latency with Interactive Brokers or Ninja Trader. Interactive Brokers would crash in the pre-market once in a while, but that would get fixed quickly since it affected all clients.

But Thinkorswim has just been brutal lately, and apparently they are having issues the world over....

Am having the same problem on ToS in Colombia. Can confirm the latency problem was as much as 15-30 seconds. Unless it is resolved immediately, TOS (and TDA) will go down the drain.
