Which platform is a better LONG-TERM choice: Ninja Trader or MultiCharts ?

I have purchased 3-month licenses for Ninja Trader and MultiCharts. I have used both and like both, but I now want to commit to one Platform for the long term (i.e. I want to purchase a life time license).

I have used both to develop indicators and signals, to back test strategies and optimize scripts, and to trade manually and automatically in live accounts.

Assuming that both platforms connect to the clearing house I want to use, does anyone have any words of wisdom as to which platform would be best in the long run?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

I think that both of them are excellent platforms.

The choice is yours.

In the end it is also a question of taste.

And as you have already tested them both, you should be able to make your decision.

The best ever platform would be a custom solution (or a "black box"). At least you can implement any algorithms, features and functions you want. MC looks better but I don't like both though. Depends on your needs there are many more sophisticated and relatively cheap solutions available in the market.

thank you everyone for your input. You are right about NT8, Luke. I may well renew MultiCharts for another quarter to see what NT8 has to offer.

It depends on what do you want from a platform...
SC has already been mentioned in this thread. This platform is value for money for technical traders and offered with significant discounts by many brokerages.
QCG QTrader is a way better than NT and MC in terms of functionality. Indicators can be easily programmed using built-in Formula Builder.
TT X_Trader - my personal choice for live trading. In some cases offered for free. Excellent functionality.
