Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Thanks for the reply man.
The biggest hassle I am having with Ninja is not knowing all of their own Ninja C# code.
It's code that they have written exclusive to Ninja, but "unsupported", so if you can work it out you can use it, but you`re on your own.
It`s much different also, coding in the Ninja editor, to coding windows apps in VS2013.
So if there was something easier i`d like to know?

NinjaTrader is a great and innovative tool due to the fact that it can be integrated with C# class libraries with ease. This is the reason why I did choose NinjaTrader for my development purposes. Of course it can be used only for indicator development with it's script using simplistic annotations on it's chart display. Depends on what you want to do. NT8 seems to be a much more open environment, judging from what has been said until now. If so, developing really complex customisations would be a real fun. Also, NT has great choice of brokers and data vendors. My approach to overcome some limitations of NT,was to run my own custom platform parallel with NT and utilize all the other bells and whistles (like brokers, data vendors, graph gizmos, standard indicators,back-testing) to NT and do some quite complex algorithmic computations totally independent from NT on my custom application space. This is one way to approach NT. Having said that, NT8 may bring some more clarity with their open framework, which may make customization more easier and more fun. Lets wait and see.
