Hi guys,

I am playing a little bit with R|Trader and can't figure it out how to put Buy/Sell Stop order from it's DOM. Is it even possible? Do you guys have any experience with R|Trader?
Thank you...

Here are two videos that would help you understand how RTrader works. It is too hard to explain it verbally.
This is for order defaults and this one is for trading from the DOM

You need to learn how to place OCO orders, which are bracket server side OCOs on R Trader.
This is for your profit target and stops.

Also, recently Rithmic added server side OCO order which is a time/stop OCO.
This means that you you can send a market order if your stop has not hit at a certain time.
I have attached the diagram

1) Press on the "Bracket and OCO" button
2) Press the Config button
3) Name your Bracket ( you can have a number of brackets)
4) Place your stop ( below you will see that you can place your stop in ticks and specify contracts)
5) Choose the time you want to convert your stops to market orders.

Submit by clicking "save" and then enabling in by pressing the red button "Disabled" which will enable this bracket.

Thank you,
Matt Z

There is a substantial risk of loss in futures trading. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
The placement of contingent orders by you or broker, or trading advisor, such as a “stop-loss” or “stop-limit” order, will not necessarily limit your losses to the intended amounts, since market conditions may make it impossible to execute such orders.

Trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. You may lose more than your initial investment. All posts are opinions and do not claim to be facts. Please conduct your own due diligence. Use only Risk capital when trading Futures.

Thank you guys for the replies. I appreciate it!

Yes, I know how to use brackets in R|Trader. It is very similar like in other trading platforms. But what I meant by Buy or Sell STOP order is, when you want to set Buy Stop order that triggers at certain price which is above current price or conversely Sell Stop order at certain price which is bellow current price.
I can do that without any problems in NinjaTrader or Sierra Charts but when I do such an action in R|Trader, it opens the order immediately at market price. I can do that through placing an order ticket, but not in the actual R|Trader DOM.

I suppose it is not possible...

Once again, Thank you guys!

Hi Matt,

thanks for the video links. I watched them all before when I tried to figure it out. The problem is, when I click at "Order Defaults" I don't have the same options which can allow me to do Stop orders as in your videos.

Am I missing something?

In the next post I will send you screenshots. (I would posted it here, but I need to have 5 posts to allow me post links or images... sorry for that)

Understood. Yes, looking at the images would help.
I think that if you use Rithmic as your data provider you should always look at R Trder to keep a tab on your trades.
I believe it gives you an accurate position count.

The coolest thing about R Trader are the features that you explore are actually ones you use/will use in trading.
Not another list of "what the #$%^ are these features for?" released with new versions of software.

Thanks,
Matt Z
