The screen capture on my oldest machine does not go back far enough for anything but a rough idea of the tunnel basics. @vvhg @Devil Man @flipper26

I bet the tunnel here looks similar to the tunnel subject of the original post? Note that these are shots from the "development" computer, not the trading computer.

Is there any resemblance to the wavy tunnel?

@wldman, yes it does look similar. I am guessing that the averages are EMA 144 and 169 - which is what wavy tunnel uses. They also use the 34.

HAHA

Answer
This post has been selected as an answer to the original posters question Answer

They started out as 144 and 169, yes., but where modified to a 156 period ema bollinger band with .08 st dev. That was done to avoid the MA crossovers and maintain a more uniformly defined width for the tunnel. The bands that are very difficult to see are lines plotted 89, 144, 233, and 377 ticks from the midpoint of the tunnel.

The "waveness" Im assuming was/is elliot wave? For us that was part of discretion...sort of like a seasoned guy not needing a horn to sound at a 50% retrace...some things are better assimilated by experience in to discretion.

The fast ma is a 12 period filter.

I do not know this lady Jody from the girl next door. But here is the thing. If she is who she claims and developed that independent of anyone else's input it confirms the value of the work being done by my group. If somehow there is borrowed intellectual capital...going either way...that also confirms the nature of the work being done.

So I'd say we are onto a worth while secondary project.

Dan

Yes, it's supposed to be a simplified elliot wave method. I have never traded this system, have only read about it. I will be interested in following your thread though and checking it out.

Found an old thread...

and I'm interested in trying to create a new visual.

These are pretty old screen shots but what I'd like to try to do is plot some lines parallel to the upper and lower bands of @Fat Tails anaUniversalKeltner indicator.

something like this.

Would be a great start. Does anyone want to tell me where to start?

I think ...

I figured this out. Two attempts to create/modify C#, two successes. I might become an indicator groupie.

I had posted something like this and called it VolaChannels.

Under the hood are three Universal Keltner Channels with different multipliers. Midband type and volatility measure (simple range or true range) can be selected.

The channel below uses an EMA(156) as midband.

For more details see thread below.

The indicator is attached in post #10.
