What can people recommend that has decent charting functions, low lag, accurate ticks (heard IB is inaccurate??), as well as good chart trading/DOM/API/script lang/playback.

Ideally all of this would be relatively inexpensive.

I know this has been asked before and right now from the other threads I'm looking at IQ Feed/Sierra/IB but Sierra has a very poor DOM and some problems with charting (eg: lines disappearing when clicked).

I heard NT has some stability/general bug problems.

Did a trial of Esignal and it was... surprisingly ok for the most part. The DOM seemed squishy though and I don't know about speed/reliability. The company that makes it is owned by a hedge fund which has some obvious conflict of interest issues.

Edit: Also IB time and sales are messed up...

You might want to check Sierra again.

Sierra has just gone thru the process of upgrading all of their drawings, and it is pretty nice IMO. There have been a few bugs in the first couple of releases, but considering how much they have changed and how quickly they fix things, its a no brainer if you do a lot of drawing.

Also, their DOM rocks. Have you looked at their ChartDOM and TradeDOM? I know this is another area they have been working on.

As far as API/scripting goes, it is C++. Not easy language, but certainly no harder than NT C#.

Granted, SC is not well understood by all, and for a beginner that can not sustain themselves by reading the help text it can be an uphill climb, but in the end the effort is well worth it.

The cheapest solution (of decent quality) would be Sierra Charts with IQFeed...

Sierra Chart/CTS (clean (accurate data), fast, stable, and cheap).
