TradeLink (http://code.google.com/p/tradelink/)

futures.io (formerly BMT),

Iím wondering could anyone share their experiences with TradeLink (http://code.google.com/p/tradelink/)?

Its implemented in C# and is open source.

Or does anyone else know of something equivalent?

Thanks and regards,

drolles

I tried it a long time ago, and was not able to make it work as expected.
Maybe unlucky...

It has been discussed off/on in this thread:

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

Guys,

Thanks for the reply.

So if I understand correctly TradeLink pretty much came out on top of the open source discussion.

@sam028 Ė how long ago did you try it? Do you feel they have moved on the platform on significantly?

Thanks and regards,

drolles

I tried it recently and had several issues getting it to work with anything I tried. I tried directly from svn sources though, so maybe that was the problem. When I get some free time, I plan on trying a few connections again to see how it is.

re: tradelink

we recommend that unless you're sophisticated user, probably shouldn't build from source.

the binary release has an installer and is what most people use.

continue looking

All,

An update on Tradelink Ė after many frustrating hours of attempting to get it to work I just couldnít. Possibly Iím not the target user group.

Iím wondering if I could gather some views. Iím leaving NT for something else. Iím after something that works in C# and can plug into a industry weight IDE (e.g. VS).

Iíve come across RightEdge (Trading Systems, Backtesting, Technical Analysis, Indicators) in the search for something new. Has anyone used it? Would anyone like to share their experiences? Iíve found some old threads on futures.io (formerly BMT) dating from 2009 on it, but nothing recent.

Iíve also found this plug-in rightedge-oanda-plugin - Oanda Plugin for RightEdge - Google Project Hosting for the Forex broker OANDA - Forex Trading and Exchange Rates Services

Thanks and regards,

drolles

Tradelink,

Thanks very much for that.

Unfortunately, also there was some basic functionality not there e.g. optimisation frameworks.

Please donít get me wrong; I really, very much hope that your project will mature. I think it is an excellent idea Ė along the lines of RedHat.

I did post many times, the support was helpful Ė thank you.

Kind regards,

drolles
