I used Quote tracker for a long time and really liked it , just started trying new things because I was a little bored and wanted to see what was out there

nothing bad to say

but that was before TD ameritrade not sure if things have changed?

I am still using quotetracker and am also getting worried about what I will replace it with once it stops working. My strategy is coded in the paintbars and I have doubts about any other program being able to reproduce it visually.

Let me know what you settle for.

You right the PB are very easy to code.

I am trying to migrate over to Ninja but there is no way to compare the charts to QT. Maybe TD Ameritrade will open up the sorce code and let us use it.

I'm not a fan of Ninja, but nonetheless I'd like to know what you view as superior in QT over NT in terms of charting or otherwise.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.

I'm not a fan of QT. It has some bugs and disadvantages.

Anyway it has still several advantages compared to many of the more modern charting progs (tried already NT, MC, ThinkOrSwim and some newer/less known progs):

- Constant volume charts working with IB backfill (NT is unable, MC also. I admire people who can trade with const time bars)
- Charts are very clear and precise and you can zoom out and in over a very long range
- Fast switching of symbols
- Doesn't waste monitor space

and probably some more that I can't tell right away.

Never tried SierraChart but from what I saw and read so far it is probably the best for a replacement.
(NT and MC are not).

Interesting, I guess it's all about perspective. To me, MC does all those things perfectly.

Sierra Chart is definitely lighter weight and a good package. If I didn't love MultiCharts so much, I might be using it as my primary charting app.

I downloaded MC but setting up a chart to look even remotely like QT is a daunting job and changing the symbol is even a bigger job.
