Best way is by testing the startegies with a mini account under real conditions. This is what I do. Becktesting cannot go too far.

You first need to ask yourself...

If a strategy is profitable....why on Earth would anyone sell it or divulge it to others?

There's a 100% chance that any profitable strategy will make more money being actively traded than the sales to retail/amateur investors.

Even a strategy that could yield 5% a month reliably would be more valuable to the architect who crafted it than it ever could being sold to others.

Furthermore, when everyone is buying and using the same strategy it can have BOTH positive and undesirable effects.

I would say that most masterpieces are rewritten. In that sense, these strategies can give you a start on coding, general ideas and such...but to take something off the shelf and trade it....successfully.....consistently....for a long length of time, seems a bit far fetched.

I may be wrong....if I am, then please inform me so I can take a look at whatever successful off shelf strategy is available that makes consistent money. I'm always open to be wrong if it's going to make me money
