Hi,
I would like to ask if NT does or does not support options?
Furthermore I would like to ask is there any way to plot charts for options from IB’s TWS in NT or is it impossible?
Anyone use NT to chart options? I was playing around and it looks like if you set the Instrument up correctly in Instrument Manager you can plot it, add it to Market Analyzer, etc. Attached chart shows the Sep 34 Put on EEM and the underlying. Data from …
It didn’t work for me has anyone tried same for IB?
Thanks
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I also tried, with IB, but I didn't find a solution to plot options prices with NT.
If you want to plot something nicer than the basic TWS charts, try with MultiCharts DT, it works with IB options, and it's free.
Would you know if Multichart DT would work with DTN or Rithmic data feed for options charting?
I just need simple price chart so I can see previoius high/low and ichicloud indicator and maybe volumes (getting not simple any more :-) .
I'm not an options guy, so @sam028 can speak more to that.
But MCDT works with everything MC works with in terms of brokers/data. So yes, IQFeed and Rithmic are on that list and work. Rithmic does not support options however. DTN does, but you would need a broker that supports options trading like IB for execution. You could still use DTN for data.
When I started to learn about Ninjatrader this summer I attended some of their webinar lessons. When asked about options being supported on Ninjatrader, the host said NT still hadn't decided to do it yet , their reasoning was they would do it right in the first place instead of trying to be over featured. Kind of disappointing for an expensive leased or owned trading software, but that's what they said..
