Hey all, does anyone actually trade these mini spy's (or any mini's for that matter)? I'm new to options, reading through Nattenbergs option volatility pricing and figure if there's enough action might be worth trading them while I'm learning vs. sim trading.

Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of action going on in them through, limited strikes, pretty far spreads (generalizing)

Thoughts?

Unless you are looking for the occasional HUGE move, it is tough to make money consistently with small contract options due to the commission costs. People who trade options for regular income tend to gravitate to expensive or very volatile stocks or the big index products like SPX, RUT & NDX. If you just want to learn live trading with minimal monetary risk then a small ETF is fine.
