XLS-SPAN copy for forum is the spreadsheet i use to play. I have made only some cells format changes.
XLS-SPAN (5d) is the file I have download today and it has no changes. The two spreadsheets have errors with ZS run.
It is the formatting changes you made to the Strike, Futures Price and/or Option Price. I am not positive where in the code it is being affected by the format changes (I think it is when it is calculating the value for grains), but when I took the spreadsheet you uploaded and changed the formats back to the original it worked. I'd suggest going back to original XLS-SPAN(5d). If you want to change formats, try one column at a time to see what will work and what won't.
Hi, I am new to XLS-SPAN. Firstly many thanks to Dudetooth. I have the version 05d. I downloaded the zip file and extracted into a sub folder within the C drive. I have changed the dates (to last 5 days) in the Scan sheet and hit download button. It says "saving files ... " but no files are saved. Also when i hit run the cells become blank. Please help me. If there a help/documentation file please point me to it.
Make sure that on the Parameters tab you have the default path to where you want the SPAN files maintained (cell B1) before you click the download button. If you did not modify this to a folder you have on your PC the spreadsheet might not be able to save the files.
When doing a scan, make sure you are on the Scan tab, modify the search criteria in the green cells (1 line per product). Click on a cell (s) to highlight the product(s) you want to scan for and then click Run.

Hello Dudetooth
I have another kind of issue.
I am trying to download with XLS-SPAN the data of different dates (2012-05-01, 2014-09-19 and 2015-12-29) but only the nyb data files are downloaded. The cme files are not downloaded. Until recently, the download did not cause issues. Could someone check if the same thing happens? I would like to know if it is a problem of mine or not and in that case how I could solve it.
I've updated the code for the new CME archive ftp. Don't be surprised if it won't download 20140419 ... that span file is unavailable on the ftp site.
On a side note, ICE has reworked their site and now pa2 span files seem unavailable, so there isn't anything to download prior to Aug 2015. CME still has ICE pa2 files for 2013 through mid-2015 when the format was converted to the pa6/csv.
