At the current time of the year, I consider selling options in the grains, especially in corn, as high risk trades. In case there is more (less) rain in the weather forecasts for the US (South Americas) for the next couple of weeks, corn price will move up sharply, as COT data is bullish. The same is true for wheat.

Meat markets currently are hard to predict. I prefer selling strangles in such situations.

Clump risk is high, as these 4 options are closely correlated with each other.

Best regards, Myrrdin

Yes I have seen what you are referring to regarding weather patterns. I have considered takeing my smaller profits on grains.

Currently I hold the following positions in the short options portfolio:

LHM P66 / C80
LHQ P64 / C84
Longterm trades.

LCQ P106 / C140
LCV P100 / C136
There were (and still are) good entry points because of the high volatility after the recent strong move upwards. In my opinion, the highs are in, and LC prices will move more or less sidewards. But there will be strong moves upwards and downwards.

CCU P1700
Intend to take profit at 50 %. (Took profit on the CCU P1600 at 50 %)

CTZ C90
Intend to take profit at 50 %. Good marketings, but very large new corp not only from the US.

NGU P2.6 / C4.25
NGU P2.6 / C4.5
NGV P2.55 / C4.5
I have a lot of confidence that NG will move more or less sidewards for some weeks. Took profit on part of the NG positions.

Best regards, Myrrdin

Do you hold this Put naked, or with the two lower Puts (as in Ron's spread)?

In this account I hold them naked.

I added some similar positions in my stocks account, as described earlier in this thread. Here I hold covered short puts, as I hold my stocks in an Interactive Brokers account, and margin is very high for naked puts. They also introduced a special daily fee for accounts with what they consider to be a high risk.

Be aware that my exit strategy is different than Ron's. I intend to buy back my short ES puts in case of a drawdown, whereas Ron will hold them.

And: My position in the diversified account is a small one - regular position size is 3 % of account size. (In the stocks account the position is even smaller.)

Best regards, Myrrdin

Bought back the CCU P1600 at 50 %, and sold the CCU P1700 at 39. Intend to buy back at 50 %.

Followed Ron in selling the NGV C4.5 .

Best regards, Myrrdin

Bought back the CCU P1700 with a profit between 40 and 50 %.

Will not re-enter at current price level, but might reconsider around 1900.

Best regards, Myrrdin

Sold CLU7 C 61
I don't see a good reason for the sudden bounce in the last week and a move downward again looks more probable.

If it moves against me I will probably first make a strangle out of it to protect the call since it usually does not increase IM.

I also sold a small position on AAPL P 146 (June 23).
Lately I sold Puts on stocks in an attempt to further diversify.
Always small positions.
