How would you compare the returns with trading etf options? ie not futures markets Do you get the same probability ratios?

I have never traded options in any other instruments. So I don't know the answer to your question.

Interesting aspect for me was how the monieness effects theta decay happening sooner or later. And how you can be wrong directionally but if the delta isn't strong enough you can still remain in the money ( assuming you start relatively fat OTM). I'd add that you might be able to trade onto the theta decay and exit early to lock in your profit and not necessarily wait until expiration assuming it will be in your favour it may well not be.
