Volatility is my focus for the day. I like technical trading and assessing short-term trends and tend to ignore fundamentals. I like candlesticks.
I would like to see a chart that shows volatility alongside price. I found two volatility indicators in BigCharts (I'm not using any trading tool yet). One is "Volatility Slow" and the other is "Volatility Fast". They are confusing in the range is very low and they kind of behave like oscillators.
A more preferable indicator would be a standard Greek vega shown on a chart over time (which seems to range from 0-1, IIRC) But I can't find anything like that on BigCharts Marketwatch.
Anything available online?
I did notice that the XX:VXO symbol when viewed in BigCharts shows CBOE volatility over time, so it appears that there are ways to view the volatility of overall markets but also interested in individual stocks.
