Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Looking at the Open Interest in March/April I don't see much of anything at the .6 and .15 deltas. To get anything decent you'd have to get down to 85 days out and that gets risky. Wonder what's going on. Thoughts?

In ES I wouldn't worry about it. There are always hundreds of bids and offers for every strike.

Actually that might be a plus because if you need to get out you are the only one of a few getting out. There aren't a bunch of other traders trying to do the same thing you are trying to do.

Now in other commodities that don't have such strong market makers, that is a concern.

Thanks. I'm pretty blown away by the way 2016 has started...it's certainly exciting and that's not really a good thing . Wondering where things will go...the consensus from all my reading says the floor is between 1850-1900..but who knows.

My broker is under my name on the left.

Our opinion of IB is in the thread. Do a thread search.

Little surprised ES Vol hasn't spiked more.
5 mins before China opens with no circuit breakers and the F ATM Straddle is 25.5% which is high but not that high.

I can only check the information sources where your information is from.

Suggest to ask your broker.

Best regards, Myrrdin

I get 2439 using CME's PC-SPAN and files from 1/7/16. I get 1752 using the XLS-SPAN. Ask this same question in the PC-SPAN thread. Maybe Dudetooth will know the answer.
