Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Sorry to hear that guys.

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.
6)

I am being bent over right now. Hell of a learning curve. Busy bailing to live to fight another day.

Rookie mistakes, i wont be making them again. It costs too much sleep and too much money!

Maybe better to ride that learning curve with equity options...? Even then, it takes a somewhat large account to really sleep well if you are a premium seller on anything but small equities.

I'm still kicking.

Sorry guys about the NG call recommendation. I never saw a 89 cent increase in 27 trading days with only 6 down days.

You know the 11 cent increase this afternoon is just people bailing out. Question is when are they done bailing. This thing is so over bought.

That's assuming he hasn't done anything rash after watching these NG calls get ballistic.

I picked up my marbles yesterday and went home after watching my NG mar 6 calls go from 8 to 17.

Today at 54. Got my ass handed to me years ago in NG. I'll watch for now.

And listen to ron99 for advice.

The webinar today is mainly for beginners and what are options. It does not go into strategy at all.

Is there a website we can go to to get this info?

So does the price turn around quickly with the warmer weather coming this weekend?

Do futures lead physical prices or physicals lead futures?

Hi Ron,

Its all good. I deviated from my, your, plan because i got too cocky and got bent over because of it. i was way too heavy in NG and paid the price. I really need to trade more markets. I put it down to the cost of education. What i have learnt from you and the other guys on the forum more than pays for the loss. I am not too worried because i know in the end i will make it back.

It was very interesting staying up overnight and watching the underlying and the pricing of the associated options. Usually i am well and truly asleep when all the action happens. It was a very good learning experience to watch the dance between bid and offer. the fed 5200 Calls danced all night. Usually i just get to see the end product of whats happened, and too be honest after last night i think i prefer that.

looking forward to your webinar.

Cheers,

bakes

Whew. Just got email from CME stating new margins for NG Outrights.

But when I opened the file it wasn't the NG contract.

After today, I'm expecting margin to increase considerably.
Anyone remember what the effect on margin was in April?
