I am looking for a new broker. I am considering OEC, but I don't know how good their datafeed are. I am not interested in using e-signal as a extra data provider, but only OEC's own datafeed. Is it good enough for scalping? I am looking for fast, reliable unfiltered datafeed.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
sorry if im too late, but i guess it depends on what sort of things you look for. free charting (up to 10 contracts at once), a decent sized indicator library, DOM, and a trade window that you can set to see each trade like a ticker tape. you can set the trade window to only show sizes greater than whatever you set, but you cant do that on the DOM. i think the charts are OK. fairly easy to use, customizablel time frames, colors, etc. so far i havent had any connection issues, its been around 2 years.
I use OEC, Ninja ( rithmic and CQG connections), transactAT, CQG Integrated client and a few more.
OEC data ( we actually white labeled their software as E-Futures International) is excellent and is as good as any of the above and better - its free.....
I'm currently looking into them and their platform. They say it can use Easy language or C# so hopefully it will be easy to plug in code I already use from Ninja or TS..
Matching trades against the bid/offer specifically.
Their Tickstream still colors trades based on uptick/downtick but their actual data matches trades against the bid/offer on par with IQFeed on US markets and ahead of IQFeed on Eurex.

That's good to hear. I haven't tried either OEC or Rithmic yet but have had issues in the past with providers during fast markets. Having data behind the bid/offer would drive me nuts.
