My intentions are to make the forum the main landing page once the new server is up (a few days).
I do have a little sad feeling about the blog, but really the forum is where I want to be. It invites so much more participation, so it isn't just me talking it is everyone. That is why the chat was so popular on the forum, I believe.
I think over time, the blog will go away. I will do my best to move all the content from the blog to the forum, first. Already I can imagine myself not wanting to post on the blog, but instead post on the forum. I am not sure what to do with that. If I post in both places that is just duplication. If I post in one and not the other, then I feel like I missed some people.
if theres no serious cost escalation let there be duplication. blog entries make sure that entries (atleast the imp ones) are consolidated at one place which makes reading a bit easier for us.
hi mike,
i was impressed the way you presented topics in your blog. not only in words but also in visual stuff. that makes it more interesting - watching + reading it.
also it is a way to refer about a subject without having lots of questions + talks inbetween with the risk that it looses his primary direction. so for me the blog is great the way it is. i think you can never realize special topics in a forum like you did this on the blog . the style you made this was unique + really attractive.
another point where the discussions/comments following your blog-storys -- they need a place like a forum to stay interaktiv.
so i would make a mixture out of it -- if you like to refer about something -- do it on your blog and the followup- discusion+comments should be routed to the forum via a link below the stuff.
thats my idea to that.
keep your blog alive! (if you still have fun on doing it)

If it is not too much work I would advise to keep the blog.
I think the blog has a lower entry barrier for newcomers. If the forum fills up, you get pretty fast to a level where people looking for some info lose their way. The blog was really good in grabbing attention and stimulating to look for more.
BTW I don't know how the search engines will pick up the blog vs. forum.
Maybe that's another aspect to consider.
