I'm thinking about getting a new watch and I'm leaning towards a Rolex. A steel and gold watch with a dark dial. A friend of mine recently got the Rolex Oyster Precision Submariner Chronometer Stainless Steel Watch. You can search it on Amazon. It has a steel band and a dark dial. 40mm, scratch resistant sapphire crystal.
Needless to say I want to one-up him.
I'm thinking about the Black Submariner Oyster Bracelet Mens Watch 116613-BKSO, which is very similar except that it is made of steel AND gold.
What kind of watches do you wear/What are some other nice alternatives to Rolex?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I have a stainless Explorer 2 , which never comes off my wrist, and a gold oyster perpetual with a black dial and arabic numerals, that I never wear. My wife has a gold Pearlmaster. Neither, of the 3 keeps accurate time, but they are great looking watches.
I also like the IWC Big Pilot and Anonimo watches. Rolexes don't get much larger than 40 mm, so if you like big watches you have to look elsewhere.

I have to admit, I never understood the appeal of watches and especially not now with cell phones. If anything the best times I can recall in my life is when I had no clue what time it was.
It is not even a good status symbol IMO because you already have to know the person for them to even notice, or have some strange watch fetish like some of you here.
I can't imagine most women outside of pro gold diggers would even know a Rolex without it being mentioned.
well i have a two tone submairner with the blue face that i never wear its a heavy watch and after the honeymoon phase i didnt like it as much anymore,if that helps in your decision...sharky
not worth the $9500 i spent,since i bought it ive seen alot of cooler watches for half the price
