Mike,

I had not idea what this thread meant. Only looked last night. I'm glad you went to the doc.

If some meds are making you sick i would tell the doc. Should not puke all day. I think vicodin can do that. they can give something else for pain. don't just live with it.

D

Sorry to hear of what you are going through Mike. Just remember, the pain, vomiting etc, are temporary, you will be through this soon, with an interesting injury story to swap with others.

Tough day today. I don't want to get gross, but have been puking all day - very badly. Have been reluctant to keep taking the million pills I am on, due to upset stomach, and now the pain alone in my hand is enough to making me sick, can't stand the pain. Rock and hard place

I am not sure if it is the super strength 3 antibiotics, or the vicodin that is making me sick. Very, very unpleasant. Am on 15mg vicodin (2xlortab 7.5) every 4 hours and expected to stay on that for a couple weeks at that level.

So wish me luck into the night. Maybe I'll start to lose some weight now...

Was unable to trade today as well for obvious reasons.

Mike

Whats wrong with medium Mikes T.F. ? LOL . Sorry yur uncomfortable and thats a lot of antibiotics and pain meds to handle . Gotta eat first with those and keep yur stomach full , its hard with the vomitting but eating should help with that too . Forget trading for a bit and relax , you deserve some rest anyway , Eric .

At least take a bite of food and a full dose of Pepto Bosmol before your meds.

1. If you haven't, see a Doc (infection is a VERY high probability) as you will most likely need antibiotics. The antibiotics are pretty strong and will destroy your normal flora so, if you develop diahrrea (serious complication), tell your Doc right away so he/she can change your antibiotics.
2. Ice it.

I am on antibiotics already:

Augmentin XR (super huge strength) 1000/62.5 x 4 daily - since Surgery, Friday 25th
Septra DS 800/160 x 2 daily - since break, Monday 21st
Augmentin regular Amox/K Clav 875 x 2 daily, Mon 21st

Hard to keep anything down at this point. A real battle.

Mike I strongly recommend that you take a good quality probiotic supplement to ease the pain and the vomiting from the antibiotics and to restore your intestinal flora at the same time , I will PM you a very good brand to take .
take care

I agree that you need to address this issue. The antibiotics kill all bacteria in your system. Probiotics are necessary when taking them. However, I couldn't tolerate the supplements, either. Maybe I didn't have a good one.

Another possibility is to eat a yogurt with active cultures. No matter what Jamie Lee Curtis would have you believe, Activia is not the only one. Just make sure there is a reference to acidophilus or active cultures. Not all yogurts have them.

I know a little of what you are going through. I had a staph infection last year and had to plan a little queasy time after every dose.

take care,
K
