Anyone watch the show Backstrom with the actor Dwight where he plays an alcoholic detective???
Also, I was curious if house of cards is worth continuing to watch. I've seen a couple episodes and thought it was good but haven't continued. Does it pick up from there similar to how Dexter did?

Yes, it is like House MD in a police procedural form. Although I usually get bored with new shows after a few episodes and the gimmick wears off. The thing is there are just so many similar shows in this genre, that I have an overload of them. I bet there are more than a dozen just right now currently running.
I like it when it is a bit different, like Jane The Virgin. It is the American version of a Mexican telenovella, kind of like Desperate housewife was when it started, with romance and mystery. And everyone is beautiful in it...
The Vikings are back, Thursdays at 10 pm. Survivor has just started again, the 250th season or something like that. Same with the Amazing Race. Most of the time I just turn the volume down and let it run in the background and I just enjoy the scenery. Although you can always learn something useful. Who would have thought if you eat a scorpion you are going to puke?
There is an excellent horror I mean nature series on PBS called:
never watched house md, but i'll take your word for it. I see so many people ranting and raving about this show even though I'm really not one for politics whatsoever. I'll give it another chance.

I liked House a lot. It's the only "medical" show I've ever watched, except if you would consider "Scrubs". I found it to be pretty good, and appreciated the comedy of it.
But anyway, House MD wasn't about politics, you mixed it up with House of Cards with Kevin Spacey (I haven't watched that yet)
House MD itself would have been just another med show, but the character of House and the fact that they made the search for a solution like a murder whodunit made the show exceptionally unique and entertaining.
At least 2 shows later on copied House's excentric, hard to work with, but otherwise genius character. Elementary and Backstrom... They could be spinoffs of House MD.... So if you like those, you would like House MD....
