Well putting it into that perspective, I guess Plattsburgh and Buffalo aren't that far from each other after all!

I live in a relatively rural part of Virginia where not many folks care for hockey, so I can understand how alienated you must have felt in Hawaii. I'm really grateful for the NHL Center Ice package, so I can see all my Sabres games!

If it were the Sabres heading into Game 1, I would be too excited to rest! What are your predictions? I'm really not sure, this one's a tough call!

Yes, Center Ice is truly excellent. I prefer the American commentators, so I'm quite happy about NHL offering it to Europeans, as well.

I'm not really sure about anything, but I do like the fact that Crosby's back. Speaking from a semi-neutral point of view, I would say that Pittsburgh has a fair chance. I think it's pretty open, though.
The new regulations have made it much more fun and exciting, I think. The pace is unbelievable, more goals and relatively evenly matched teams.

It's going to be a few good weeks, regardless of how the Pens do or that Buffalo failed to qualify!

I can't say I've heard any European commentators. What is it about the American commentators that you like? After living in Buffalo for so long, I have to say I miss the Canadian commentators... unless I'm watching a Sabres game, then I most certainly prefer Rick Jeanerette! He cracks me up!

I agree that it's pretty open. The competition is fierce this year! I agree it will be entertaining regardless of who's in it now or at the end.

24 hrs to go...

Apparently my excitement messed with my sense of time, I tried to say only a few minutes to go...

So far, so good.

I won't spam this thread any further, I just wanted to rectify my error.

Yes, I probably should have said Canadians. I agree with that. You're all the same to us Europeans, though!

I think it's largely because it's close to the game. It seems superfluous to have someone in a studio in Sweden commentate, when there are already commentators present at the arena.

I don't think Mike is happy about us taking over the thread, so I'll call it a night.

Maybe we should create a separate hockey thread, there are bound to be other fans out there...

Have a good one!

TV Shows I watch are:

Dr. Who- the new episodes on NFLX
Family guy
Top Gear (US)
Archer
Pawn Stars
The Walking Dead

I always thought I didn't watch TV hardly at all but after looking at my list and a couple other random shows on there I guess it's more than I thought.

Love Tim Allen's new sitcom "Last Man Standing". He is an outdoorsy, sporty, manly kind of guy, living in a household full of women, namely his wife and 3 teen age girls. Very funny, well written show. Pretty much the same formula as his old show "Home Improvement", and just as entertaining.

.
I don't think I saw anyone mention 'Rules of Engagement'. Extremely funny sitcom about a group of 30 something's married, engaged, and single, living in New York. It is in it's 6th season right now. At least 3 or 4 roll on the floor laughing moments every episode. Saturday Night Live alumnus David Spade plays one of the characters, and is very funny as usual, as well as all the cast.

I started watching this after you posted about it. I started with season 1, and I always know the first season is generally the hardest in terms of character development/acting, etc, but you are right - I have laughed out loud many times, it is a great show

I've never been a huge David Spade fan. My favorite character is Jeff. He is awesome!

Glad you like it. I like the character Adam, he is so clueless, he is totally hilarious.

Just finishing it's 2nd season. If you like action, thrills, intrigue, spies, gadgets, decent story lines, excellent fight choreography... and it's obviously easy on the eyes too
