Imagine Germany and Japan being at cold war with each other. The USA is split into Japanese Pacific and German Eastern territories with a Rocky Mountain States neutral buffer zone between them. So if you are ready for this, you can watch Man in the high castle, a Philip K. Dick original from 1962 alternate history on Amazon Prime.

Man, Fargo is easily the best thing on TV right now. Here is a user opinion from Reddit, just try to make sense of it if you don't watch the show:
"I feel like the whole "UFO angle" is more a metaphor than anything tangible or real. It's shining a light on the uncertainty of the external forces that are coming in and upsetting the quiet status quo, like Mike Mulligan and the KC Mob, or the cancer, or Ronald Reagan."
It's a short series, only one season before it was cancelled. So far (4 episodes in), I really enjoy it, the comedy is great enough for me to bust out with some LOL's and the story is different enough to be fresh.
I really hate when networks cancel good shows like this without giving them a chance. Hopefully Netflix or Amazon will pick this one up one day, but probably not.
I found this pretty funny, enough to make me want to watch more of James Corden shows on late night. I am not a Bieber guy so the fact that I still found it good makes me think this show is worth watching.

I thought 'Almost Human' was decent. It was one of the shows we watched with the kids that all of us found acceptable. Was surprised that they cancelled it so quickly, but I guess most of America prefer's the Batchelor and the Voice and other programs that I think are trash
Probably expensive. Networks don't give shows a chance to acquire fans these days. I don't even start watching a series until I see how long it survives because I don't want to get invested then it be cancelled.
The series had a nice 4 year run. The basic premise is that corporations rule the world, where the Congress is openly ruled by corporations best interests (similar to now, just more brazenly public).
The lead actress gets sent back in time 60 years to try and change the past, and in doing so you can basically see the very difficult decisions that she and her friends have to make and they ultimately end up creating the problem (not a huge spoiler, forgive me).
I found there to be a lot of parallels of how this fantasy world mimics our own, and some of the very likely decisions the government and police, pushed by corporations, are likely to roll out in the future to all be pretty believable.
There is of course a sci-fi spin, but it's not excessive or over done. There are hints of a police drama and sci-fi drama combined into one. The production values remained very high during the entire series, and if you are a sci-fi fan then you'll appreciate the use of special effects in the series.
