I'm on about Season 5 of Mad Men right now. It took me about a season to get invested and interested in it, but since then it 's addicting!

I'm not splitting my TV time between Mad Men and Frasier. I know Frasier is a bit old, but I never watched it much on air. It's more of what I'll watch when I'm exhausted and don't want to have to think much.

BUT, what I'm really excited about is the upcoming season of Arrested Development. I'm a huge fan of AD, and I'm so glad Netflix decided to pick it up!

Great acting, plots, nice pacing, you name it. Watch it on demand.

I'm going to rewatch Season 2 of Game of Thrones, so I can refresh my memory on the chain of events. Then off to Season 3. That's 20 very enjoyable hours of television right there

No spoilers, I haven't read the books and don't know what happened this season...

I was a fan of Arrested Development, and season 4 by Netflix seemed to get good reviews overall.

So I started watching it. Man, I really can barely stand to watch it! It's terrible!

Canadian made sci-fi pilot that only made it to DVD in 2007. Kind of a mix of Babylon 5 effects, Space: 1999 story and too fantastical elements, and some Star Trek. Decent sci-fi concepts but some horrible execution and flaws. Full movie here:

Boardwalk Empire - Solid.

Throne Games - Best thing happening these days IMO.

Six Feet Under - Best show of all time (if you don't mind everyone crying and a lot of death...)

Yes very good but nothing can compare to Sopranos IMHO except maybe the first season of Breaking Bad

Been watching Kitchen Nightmares non stop for days...or at least when I have time each day.....

I am fascinated by the reasons these restaurants fail. 99% of the time its the owner not willing to accept responsibility for the food or the service or the cleanliness of the restaurant and their refusal to change. And it takes harsh confrontation most of the time to shock them out of it.

Unfortunately, most of the time its too late. Most of the restaurants Ramsey helps fail anyway. They let it go far to long before they asked for help. Some make it. And they are grateful for his help but after watching probably at least two dozen episodes over the last month, I can tell you its made a serious impact on me with regards to my trading.

Some key take aways:

1. You must have passion for your profession.
2. You must not lower standards.
3. Accept personal responsibility for everything.
4. Perfection is the goal.
5. Work your ass off...but do it smart.

All common sense stuff but so often we fall into the trap of violating one of these areas. Especially the one about taking responsibility for everything as the owner. This one is the key to all the rest....

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, Leonardo da Vinci

The show "Restaurant Impossible" is similar and also great if you want to try it out. It would be cool if they had a show about these guys coming out and helping new traders fix their problems haha

I watch that one as well but I like Kitchen Nightmares better....I think its all the cussing or perhaps the confrontational style he uses to get people to wake up....not sure why really but my kid told us today she felt like "getting all Chef Ramsay" on someone that called her a name! Hows that for influence!

Has really great reviews.

Mike

I have no idea how I started watching this considering the theme of a women's correctional facility seems like the most uninteresting thing possible, but I tuned in once when my girl friend was watching it and it was really good. I found it very easy to watch consecutive episodes of this one despite my initial concern. I don't know how the producer of weeds pulled it off, but they did. haha

A clip from one show I really like "Happy Endings". Really funny, especially the later episodes.

Too bad they cancelled it, like everything else these days! I guess there wasn't enough......

drama!

I have no idea how I started watching this considering the theme of a women's correctional facility seems like the most uninteresting thing possible, but I tuned in once when my girl friend was watching it and it was really good. I found it very easy to watch consecutive episodes of this one despite my initial concern. I don't know how the producer of weeds pulled it off, but they did. haha

Weeds started strong but man it was a chore to watch the last couple of seasons, IMO. I did because I felt like I had so much already invested... I like the main chick in it (Mary Louise Parker) a lot.

The main reason I am saving "Orange is the New Black" is because of Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew). I wanted to see if she is any good in it. Man, she is absolutely terrible in NTSF:SD:SUV:: ...

I started watching modern family and thought it was pretty funny despite the completely unoriginal title. It goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover. Looks like both al and peggy bundy got a second chance with their new tv shows, al in modern family and peggy in sons of anarchy. Funny how things work out.

I love Gloria (his wife). The whole series is pretty good when you are in the mood to laugh a bit.

Well Mike you know Columbia is right next to Ecuador, I'm sure you'll see a lot of pretty women like Gloria there. (Gloria / Sofia Vergara comes from Colombia )

Eastbound & Down anyone?

I just found out about this show the other day after reading an article that it's one of Marilyn Manson's favorite shows and he planned on doing a cameo in an episode. It's very vulgar, obscene, and completely limitless with it's approach but never deviating from it's completely original cult classic feel. The second season is hilarious as the main character ventures down into mexico to become an incognito cockfighter and escape his former life of failing at professional American baseball.

I love Modern Family.

I recently got myself a VPN, then I could get Netflix.

On Netflix thus far, I have mostly been watching Gordon Ramsay series. I love Kitchen Nightmares, and even more I love his Best Kitchen series. The thing I love about the Best Kitchen series is the pursuit of perfection, chefs who already have one star who are striving their guts out to get to the tree star level. This is very inspiring.

The other night I saw the first episode of The Blacklist. I love James Spader, so I downloaded a couple more episodes. Now I am a little disappointed because it looks, at this point, as though this series will develop in a predictable formula of single episode capers involving single persons on the blacklist. I guess like Burn Notice or the like. I would prefer to see something with one long story arc with many twists and turns, rather than the same pattern.

Finished all my shows, so added The Wire, Mad Men, Covert Affairs, Sherlock (BBC) and Raising Hope. In first season, but all pretty darn good so far. First two of Sherlock were average, but the third one was really good.

I haven't watched any TV series for a while as I was thoroughly disappointed with each I tried to endure.
I am a fan of hard science fiction yet everything that passess nowadays for science fiction is either some female centered fantasy verging on necrophilia and bestiality (Twilight anyone?) or sexually deprived male fantasy of sword/bow/etc. wielding cuties or both at the same time (yuck).

Is there any recent TV series that would not be a waste of time for me and would actually be a science fiction not a fantasy?

Lol....luved Gold Rush too....lol the free spirit in me loved what they did & their determination.

With due respect to your views, I am just wondering that will it help me to watch a show while I am trading? On one hand I am trying to relax by watching the series on the other I am dividing my concentration.

Would you please suggest in a greater detail how and when it might help?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Syed....was that a trick question bud

Well for one I am not watching anything when am in the trade expect my screens...lol.

Am not sure if watching a show during the trading day will help. I think this is a more general off topic question.

Guess its to get view points or rather suggestions what TV shows might be of interest.....atleast thats the way i see it. And I guess if it helps keep the mind in chill / pill attitude...it probably is a +.

thnx

Hey Paps:

As I stress a lot during the trading, I was wondering whether watching movies for stress reduction helps or not.

Thanks a lot pal for your inputs, as I am fairly new in the trading world, I am trying to figure out which style will fit my personality.

Have a great weekend!

Have seen breath/meditation help me...or just sitting by myself quietly. Breath holds a big part of our lives...n firmly believe it has its definite part in my own trading.

I don't know if it has been mentioned already but currently watching Borgen, a Danish political drama. A great watch, similar to The West Wing, which is one of my all time favourite TV programmes along with Sopranos.

Never heard of it. Looked it up and watched a clip on YouTube. I think I'll pass, British humor is hit or miss on me. For example I liked "Mrs Browns Boys" but this one I didn't laugh at all on the clip. If I don't laugh then I don't add to my list...

I watch vice shows on a daily basis...it's been a guilty pleasure of mine for the past couple years... basically I just search "vice" in youtube. Vice.com is a modern non-bias up and coming journalism company. Once you type vice into the search there are a few pages of shows.. the second page has some good ones. The older shows that came out a year or two ago are pretty cool too. You might also want to filter the youtube search for videos longer than 20 minutes if you want to avoid the short ones.

VICE | United States | The Definitive Guide to Enlightening Information

It'll keep you entertained for a while to say the least. Plus, It helps me keep on top of political topics with interesting documentaries. For instance, vice goes to North Korea, cartel ridden Mexico, they went to Greek riots while they were happening, the Congo, and any part of the world that conflict arises. They'll follow both sides of the story and even interview the bad guys and terrorists. In fact in one of their shows they even interviewed suicide bombers. But if you're not interested in politics, they have a variety of other shows based on other topics.

If there is anything controversial going on in the world you can bet they'll be covering it.

Speaking of documentaries, I'm a documentary nut. I've probably watched 100-200 documentaries from https://futures.io/topdocumentaryfilms.com. Every documentary on the site works like a charm and plays instantly right there on the page. Anyways, If you like documentaries you can find all sorts of different topics covered on the site for free (no need to go to piratebay). It's a great way to pass time and also learn about the world.

To search for the most recently added documentaries simply go to their sub-page https://futures.io/topdocumentaryfilms.com/all/

I highly recommend "Modern Family!!" Typically, I don't really find comedy shows amusing but that always has me laughing.

Deadmau5 did the same thing in his 458 italia. It is on his Youtube channel under Coffee Run. Jerry is funnier though.

If this series hasn't been recommended already, I can really recommend Borgen: Borgen (TV Series 2010? ) - IMDb

It's really good if you like politics/intrige and is very thrilling !

I am either watching sports or the History or Science Channels ... Most any topic historical or scientific, I'm in.

No modern sit-coms
No reality TV

I don't know why, but I get caught watching hardcore pawn a lot. I just find it funny when people freak out and such about getting loans and pawning stuff in Detroit. Reality tv sucks you in when you end up flipping through the channels.

The mentality of the show 2 broke girls is only that of a depraved mind. It certainly doesn't represent all Americans' mentality. But as time goes on it seems to be leaning that way more and more.

Hope all is well in the Czech Republic.

That's for sure it doesn't apply on everyone. But they are not bad characters. I like them. But somtimes I see there certain patterns that are typical for majority and for somebody who is curious about this culture difference it might be quite interesting to watch, that's why I wrote what I wrote.

Haha, not much things is well in CZ. But thanks for caring.

It's 100% sexual innuendos. I can't stand it. Even if the actresses are hot the show has little to offer other than edginess IMO

This is one of my favorite shows but it was concluded at 24 episodes. It's definitely worth a watch because it has great character development, a unique touch, and an interesting story with countless ridiculously hilarious situations they get themselves into. I wish they would do some follow up but I guess the movie actors have other movies in their agenda than do tv. It makes for a great show to entertain a date, friends, or family with if you need something guaranteed to make em laugh.
