Agree with hobart that sitting is terrible for you and that you should move around as often as possible.

Sorry if someone has already mentioned, but exercises to strengthen your back muscles will limit/eliminate back pain. It did for me, anyway. Pull-ups on a pull-up bar was all it took and most of my back pain disappeared.

I need a new chair with lumbar support and recline ability. Im 6.5ft and 104kgs. Herman Miller chairs have decent reviews but the price is eyewatering. Can ,whoever owns one, tell me what the build quality is like and how hardy the chairs are. Most things nowdays cater to hobbits weighing in at 75-80kgs and who are 6ft short. If I spend that much then its got to be a long term chair that can handle a man mountain.

Or any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks.

Edit: The Steelcase brand appear to be an alternative to Herman Miller chairs. Unfortunately I cannot find anywhere close by that stocks these chairs (so that I can try it out first) so if I do decide on one, Im going to have to go on reviews alone.

When I switched jobs and started working remotely I decided it was time to buy a decent chair. I eventually sucked it up and went with the Herman Miller Aeron and I'm glad that I did. It is an extremely comfortable chair and I spend at least 8 hours a day in it. I actually noticed a reduction (I now have none) in back aches that I had become used to in the office. They are expensive, yes, but if you can afford it and plan to spend a lot of time in front of your computer, the cost benefit is huge. Just my 2c

First of all you should do a proper checkup.

I already visited the doctor and he said to take complete bed rest lol. How can I do rest when I have too much workload on me, that's why I am looking for an alternative solution.

Then find a comfortable chair. I suggest you buy a chair which also have massage function in it.

Some chairs have built-in motors and also have massage functions.
