I'm trying to understand this, can you share a photo of this in action?

Mike

Sorry. Bad explanation.

To clarify I sit on a coccyx cushion on the floor, and have my monitors on a entertainment stand that is about knee height. This is about 20" off the floor which the monitors rest on.
I think it will be easier on my neck if I raise my monitors a few inches. A simple fix.

I am really interested in the workstations similar to the ones nurses use that can go up and down. I've seen them for trading too. But they are in the thousands of dollars.

Another thought would be to put the monitors on an adjustable arm that the elevation can be adjusted.

the correct answer is "have lots of sitting options and move a lot". Sitting is horrible for you.
I have a regular office chair, a saddle chair, a yoga ball, a 6"x12x18 box, an 18"x24x36 box, a big circular pillow, and of course, my favorite, a nice homemade rocking sieza chair. I spend no more than 30 minutes in any one sitting device, and actually have my sierra chart play a chirp at XX:20 and XX:50 to "move around switch it up". I try to spend at least half the day sitting directly on the floor on my big green pillow. My desk is also setup to be usable standing, sitting in normal chair or on the floor.

if you think i am a looney for all these contraptions- then try this
and see if your hips are as supple as you think they are when you can't put your leg into extension.

I need a new chair with lumbar support and recline ability. Im 6.5ft and 104kgs. Herman Miller chairs have decent reviews but the price is eyewatering. Can ,whoever owns one, tell me what the build quality is like and how hardy the chairs are. Most things nowdays cater to hobbits weighing in at 75-80kgs and who are 6ft short. If I spend that much then its got to be a long term chair that can handle a man mountain.

Or any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks.

Edit: The Steelcase brand appear to be an alternative to Herman Miller chairs. Unfortunately I cannot find anywhere close by that stocks these chairs (so that I can try it out first) so if I do decide on one, Im going to have to go on reviews alone.

In the chair world to a large degree you get what you pay for. The prices are painful but worth if can get right chair. I have the Herman Miller Embody. Before that I had a steelcase which was great but I prefer the embody. Build Quality on both excellent. I am 6ft and fits me great.

"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."

Great someone that has had both! I must admit that I am leaning to the Miller embody from the reviews.
I read that the Miller does not have an adjustable lumbar support and the steelcase does. How do you find the lumbar support one compared to the other?

I would say steel case has most lumbar. But they are really different chairs. Hard to explain unless you sit in both. But they both are excellent. I still have my steel case but really prefer the Embody. The Embody just cradles me better for lack of a better way to say it.

get the herman miller...they're all great but either Aeron, Mirra 2 or Embody
- and they do come in different sizes so should be able to fit you hightower guys

best bet is to call them up and ask them which model and size is best for you.

cheers

Johnny

SmartMotion Ergonomics profiles the patented Swing Chair in the video link above.

Ergonomic Office Chair with Natural Human Motion

I have used a Swing Chair for years and recently got their latest version.
Seems to work pretty good for me. The frame currently comes in black only.
